CIAA football schedule question
« on: September 11, 2019, 10:23:40 AM »
Does WSSU play Va Union every year or does it rotate around.?   Once again Fay State has an advantage with there 2 north conference games while WSSU play Bowie and Union.

FSU has played Bowie and Union often and in the same years.  If WSSU wants it they gotta earn it!

CIAA conference play has 5 division games and 2 cross overs that rotate on a 2 year bases.  This is the second year of the current rotation so that's why WSSU is playing VUU and Bowie again this year.  Next years cross overs should be different.

Outside of that some CIAA schools schedule each other for OOC games, but the conference doesn't take that into consideration when scheduling the future rotation games.  WSSU and VA Union actually had a home and home nonconference agreement for 2016 and 2017.  So with the non conference agreement and now the mandated rotation that is why WSSU and VA Union are playing for the 4th year in a row.

We will beat ya'll for the Southern Division championship. Right now, VUU is my pick to win it all, but I will see how they do against LR this week to be sure.

So Elizabeth City and Chowan should be on next year's schedule.

Unless the conference does something crazy they should be WSSU's cross over games in 2020 and 2021.  Since the last time they were the cross over schools was in 2014 and 2015.
