Long term strategic planning. Not gonna happen before year 2035....if approved.Folks gotta stop leaking info from wish lists and pushing it out as facts.

Personally I'd like to see us stay the course. Takes to much $$ to move up.By the time we're ready it would require a $35 million budget.

I was just thinking the same think. Hell there were at least 4 SWAC schools considering possibly leaving the SWAC a year ago. But nobody leak it to the media to be posted as a fact, and that was more realistic and sooner.

Was this exploration before the new Commissioner was hired for the SWAC? If so, I completely understand as McClelland is doing a much better job already.

All jokes aside...
If some of the other schools on that list can make the jump, then so can A&T. I would be very happy if they can do this. HBCUs need a school on that level. They are our largest school and have a very high up side. They got my vote.

 I believe that if any of our schools can do this successfully, A&T definitely can. Time will tell.  Question is: will other hbcu's join them? Hmmm...I actually hope so!

Aggies on another board basically said this is an exploratory discussion for a long range strategic plan by the school.

With the state of Carolina cutting funding for sports more and more. Where do you think they are going to come up with the money to do it and fund it properly?

Bluedog  Heck if I know.  At any rate, time will tell the story. We can speculate all day long.  A&T MAY decide after looking at every thing that it is not a good move for them. Whatever works for em.

Their student population would have to grow to about 15,000 plus and become more diverse to draw more sponsors. But it can be done. Even as a die hard WSSU fan, I would support this move. If our largest school can't do it, then which of us can?

me personally, i do not support such a move.  we simply do not have the resources to compete at that level.  at least at the fcs level, we have a "fighting chance" to make some noise at the highest levels.  but at the fbs level, we have virtually "zero chance" of making noise at the highest levels.

so why even waste time and money trying to do so?  money raised to advance to the fbs level can be better used to build a true powerhouse at the fcs level...

With all the divisive rhetoric on social media outlets like Facebook and Twitter, websites such as ours, especially message boards, are under the watchful eye of the Internet giants. And those giants are coming down hard on sites like this one due to the perception of the need for better "oversight".

We recognize the cultural conflict that exists and over the past few months we've been accused of allowing content in posts/threads that supposedly violates some advertiser's policies. Those threads weren’t an issue in the past, but for some reason, they are an issue now. And we are being penalized (financially) because of it.
