No one else finds this ridiculous?

What would you suggest is a good solution?

Does the conference set the schedule in the CIAA?  If so, then how in the world did they not consider double booking when setting the schedule?  Why couldn't Shaw set their homecoming for the end of September against Ed Waters?

Shaw only has four home games including the pseudo-home game against St. Augs; so I understand they are trying to give them home games.  However, they are the ones renting the stadium and should be the ones inconvenienced by double-booked weekends.  Now, St. Aug has to play WSSU as a road team for a second year instead.

If I were a St. Aug season tix holder I'd be pissed.  We should have five home games.

Shaw/St Aug fans speak on it.

I'm still confused....this is a clear win for WSSU in terms of the move. We both (Shaw & St.Aug) had to change home games to accommodate the season. St.Aug gets to stay in the state of NC so it's a win for them as well.

I see a win for WSSU but not for Shaw. How does Shaw "win" from keeping it's own scheduled home game in the state in NC when they are playing WSSU? where the hell else but in NC world the have been played? And now it's a WSSU home game? Smh

If anyone is to blame, (and I'm saying that lightly) it would be St. Aug for basically giving up their home game and not calling the shots on where it is played. But with that being said, this could benefit both schools if done right. Recruiting teams should be working overtime on this one.

The CIAA does set the conference portion of the schedule; however, the division portion has been the same since 2012 just alternating home and away. So there shouldn't be any blame on the conference either.  Before schedules were announced Shaw and St Augs should have known there were going to be conflicts.

I do wonder if they ever considered having one of the teams play a Thursday or Friday night game during the double booked weeks just to maintain having home field.

Never mind, just remembered the stadium doesn't have lights so that wouldn't have worked.

Again...we gave up a fifth home game vs Virginia State to accommodate. Both schools made sacrifices. And let's be brutally honest...the last few times WSSU has gone to St.Aug it's been more red than blue.

Its always more red than blue and all of WSSU conference games. However, St. Aug should get the same percentage of the gate they would have gotten if it were at their place. In addititon, it was not Shaw's fault St Aug over booked. So if St Aug gets their share of the much larger gate now that it is played closer to WSSU, all three schools would benifit.

surprised they not playing in the new HP baseball stadium

I'm not sure if the field is shaped to be able to hold a football field.

From what i was told , it can be modified. So it can be the future home of HPU football

Good deal.

It's our home game now. We get the "lion's share"of the revenue.  We make a reasonable donation to Guilford County Schools.

Amen to those recruiting suggestions.

After all these years of Shaw playing in Durham County Stadium, this makes no sense to me as to why St. Augustine would give this game to WSSU instead of doing the same.

Not being in the room, I'm willing to bet Durham County officials priced themselves out of the game.

I agree with you Platinum Sound. They were probably not asked to bid.
