NC LIVE is seeking to fill the position of Open Educational Resources Librarian to lead Open Education North Carolina (OENC), an initiative that reduces the cost of higher education and improves student success across North Carolina’s colleges and universities. Administered by NC LIVE, OENC is a statewide Open Educational Resources (OER) initiative that includes a content hub; curated e-textbooks suited to North Carolina’s most-taught courses; regional training workshops; a promotional campaign; and a faculty adoption grant program. The Open Educational Resources Librarian manages all operational aspects of the OENC initiative; evaluates the initiative’s ROI by measuring performance metrics like adoption rate, cost-savings, and student performance; and regularly reports out to stakeholders.
The ideal candidate for this position will be a passionate advocate for open education who also possesses the operational skills necessary to manage a statewide startup initiative. This position will be expected to own this important initiative, working autonomously, making critical decisions in real-time, overcoming obstacles, and being accountable for results. Because this initiative is partially grant-funded, the Program Manager will also be responsible for fulfilling grant reporting requirements.
Review of applications is underway; position will remain open until a suitable candidate is found. See vacancy announcement with application instructions at https://www.lib.ncsu.edu/jobs/ehra/oer
