Que

Uhm... yeah but Noooo...again

That is what the NCAA required of Savannah State for reclassification to Division II membership in the NCAA.   :lmao:

Has nothing to do with membership in the SIAC.

Here’s more of the proof that Punchy tried to persuade you to utilize,

http://www.ncaa.org/about/resources/media-center/news/dii-set-add-four-members

You should know this given the language you posted in quotes specifically comes from the article I just attachedfrom the NCAA.

Well one difference might be that you are not in the SIAC yet and WSSU was immediately let back in. Or it could be the fact the that WSSU is in the CIAA and not the SIAC (where fcuked up stuff always happens) But its no big deal.

But umm yeah but no, we are officially in the SIAC https://thesiac.com.  It's really a THING.  It's not provisional, delayed, or conditional.  Kinda like what you said "immediate."

Now what we can't do is "immediately" compete for a championship given the NCAA sanctions.

You said you are not provisional but your link said this.

"Savannah State also advanced to provisional year two of the two-year reclassification process from Division I.  The Membership Committee noted significant concerns related to Savannah State’s compliance program, its recent major infractions case and probationary status in Division I, and its overall readiness to be an active Division II member. "

This quote from your link sounds like you are provisional and not a full member (i.e. you are not considered DII yet), which is why you do not qualify for any championships.  My understanding is that only full DII members qualify for championships.  Ergo, you are not an official member of the SIAC until you pass the provisional stage and qualify as a DII member.  Simply put you can't officially be in a DII conference until you qualify as a DII member. What else you got?

If you go to this map

http://www.ncaa.org/about/resources/research/ncaa-member-schools

Put in this criteria

DII

SIAC Conference

State GA

Public

Only Fort Valley and Albany State show up.

Reaching a bit

You can be a full member of a conference and not qualify for tournament play or to compete for a championship.  Ergo SWAC teams that don’t meet APR.

 No you are reaching.  You can be a full member and not qualify for championships problem is SSU is not a full member of the SIAC yet. You are a provisional DII.  You proved that with your link, By the way, SWAC schools that didn't meet APR were active D1 members and active members of the SWAC.  You continue to try to compare apples and oranges.  Its rather sad. Now since you can't dazzle us with brilliance you are trying to baffle us with bullshyt. PS it might help if you try to save someone from drowning, that you know how to swim. :tiptoe: By the way, what did the NCAA map say????

Show me where the SIAC lists SSU as a provisional member?

And furthermore, if being provisional automatically places you in last place in pre season polls,  why not just omit the provisional member from the rankings altogether?

We were provisionally admitted to join the MEAC for a year.

“Savannah State was accepted into the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) as a provisional member in 2010 and attained full membership a year later.”

 This is like having a discussion with trump. The NCAA is the governing body that decides whether you are provisional or not.  If they don't grant you DII status you will never be a member of the SIAC. Point blank, period.  Your argument is all over the place and nonsensical.  You are groping for something to be right on.   On the last statement you made folks have answered it numerous time you just won't accept it.  The SIAC does F'd up stuff all the time.  This is my last response to you because I have wasted enough time going around in circles.  The last statement is yours, have fun.

Pretty much. They lost some pieces but they are well coached

Yes they are.
They didn’t know, Punchy. They saw SSU on the schedule and thought the Tigers were going to be the buffet for the SIAC East.  And yes, SSU DID run through its SIAC schedule... beat them ALL. Crushed the alleged top dawgs. SSU will probably be picked to finish 5th next season.  This season was a fluke.

I stand by what I have been saying. The preseason ranking was a joke. I never thought that SSU would not finish at or near the top. Had I been a betting man I would have picked up a lot of dollars.

It was a joke, and the joke ended up on those voters.

Lazy voters who didn't do their research. For those of us paying attention you could see SSU turning the corner last season. Although not always reflective in the final score SSU gave the MEAC best teams all they could handle last year. Beat Charleston Southern and should have beaten SC State! If SSU had remained in the MEAC they wee going to be trouble for the rest of the conference.

It’s all good. SSU’s Base got what it wanted, now let’s see if get off their hands and contribute to the program. 🙄
