Guide to following A&T track and field athletes at the NCAA championships

How might the Aggies fare?
Trackandfieldnews.com, in its form chart posted after the East and West preliminaries, predicted a national championship for A&T's Trevor Stewart in the 400 and a 17th-place finish for the men's team.

Stewart's time of 44.38 seconds ranks No. 3 in the world during the 2019 outdoor season. Rowe, with a 20.12 in the 200, is ranked No. 10.

In its women's form chart, the web site predicted a 2-3 finish in the 200 by Kayla White and Cambrea Sturgis, fueling a projected 11th-place finish overall.

A&T's men's track and field sprinters and hurdlers turned in a strong effort, but one that also will leave them wanting, on the opening day of the NCAA track and field championships at Austin, Texas.

A&T, which has the nation's No. 10-rated team, advanced entries in four of its seven events to finals on Friday night. Hurdler Michael Dickson and Trevor Stewart will compete in one individual final and one relay final each.

Surprisingly, senior star Rodney Rowe moved forward only with his 4x100 relay team, falling oh-so-short in the 100 meters semifinal and then missing about an hour later in the 200.

White and Sturgis both did well in their events and I was impressed with their 4x1 finishing in the top 5.

Honestly NCAT is the best track program the the Carolina’s period. They had several mishaps including Rowe having the worst competition in three years.

With all the divisive rhetoric on social media outlets like Facebook and Twitter, websites such as ours, especially message boards, are under the watchful eye of the Internet giants. And those giants are coming down hard on sites like this one due to the perception of the need for better "oversight".

We recognize the cultural conflict that exists and over the past few months we've been accused of allowing content in posts/threads that supposedly violates some advertiser's policies. Those threads weren’t an issue in the past, but for some reason, they are an issue now. And we are being penalized (financially) because of it.
