WSSU losing in football and basketball had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the baseball program.  The Conference eliminated the sport forcing us to act as an independent. Financially we cannot afford to support the sport and stay compliant with Title IX. We are adding Men's Golf because of roster size and it's more cost effective, which will allow us to be D2 compliant and on financially balanced with Title IX.

Professor is right to some degree. The article clearly states that the money saved would be used for the revenue sports. There was an recent article about the women's basketball team not being able to compete because of the lack of scholarship money. I know that we have lost football recruits because of a lack scholarship money.

The article may say that however, that is not the case.... When the Conference eliminated baseball that was the nail...  We have to remain balanced with Title IX and D2 compliant. We got in trouble not too long ago for not being compliant... Being a Financial Supporter of WSSU and Athletics allows access to information.

REALLY?????   Are SC State, Howard, and Morgan State starting up baseball programs?   They surely don't play baseball now.

It was a joke. You don't have a sense of humor?

What’s odd is they may can play up a level as Dallas Baptist is D-1 in baseball only. Not sure of what’s needed to do.

Exactly. WSSU can offer any sport it wants too outside of the required sports of the CIAA. Schools join other conferences to play sports all the time

Example:  Augusta University is a MEAC member for Golf. Howard plays Soccer in the SWAC

wssu needs to own their own football stadium.  for most hbcu's, football is our biggest revenue sport.  i don't know whatever happened to wssu acquiring bowman/gray, but they need to own that facility so that they can generate additional revenue...
