Comeback King Katt Williams is on a roll—and he has a new role.

“It’s Katt’s big chance, maybe his last chance at a real comeback!” a source told In Touch. Though the comedian has been previously plagued with drug and crime issues, the source also added that Williams is “sober, he’s on his best behavior and the cast loves him.”

Just recently, Williams was arrested for allegedly assaulting a driver in Portland, Oregon, so landing a gig on a mainstream network show is no small feat for the petite performer.

Williams will be portraying the estranged father of Kyra (Quvenzhané Wallis), a young cousin of Dre’s who spends time with the Johnsons when her mom isn’t fully equipped to take care of her.

“It’s definitely a comeback for Katt. This is a big deal,” the source continued. “He was on Atlanta, but this is a mainstream, family-friendly, network series. If Katt f–ks this up, he’s never getting another shot. Everyone is rooting for him, especially stars Tracee Ellis Ross and Anthony Anderson.”

Williams made a splash as the infamous Alligator Man in Atlanta: Robbin’ Season, a performance that ultimately secured him the Emmy bag. The 47-year-old actor won the 2018 statuette for Guest Actor - Comedy Series.

A Katt Williams appearance on Black-ish will be dope. Imagine the banter between his character and Ruby (Jenifer Lewis). Shading Bow’s white side by calling her a “BOGO white” or something. Or clowning Dre’s shoe collection because he doesn’t have any Stacy Adams. He’ll definitely have something to say about the specialness that is Junior (Marcus Scribner) and Jack (Miles Brown). It’s a toss-up between whether he and Diane (Marsai Martin) will play the dozens or become best friends because they’re the same person. Either is possible.

Let me get my snacks ready...

I can't wait, this should be good.

........Mrs. Strike is a HUGE fan of Black-ish. Not sure what she thinks of Katt’s upcoming appearance, but I’ll ask.

As for Katt Williams, look, I actually like dude. I think his material is really humorous. And I was almost prepared to dismiss him as just a petite lil dude clown. But I’ve seen him interviewed in a couple of forums - one was the Breakfast Club - and quickly realized that dude is very intelligent.

Guys, I wonder whether Katt’s numerous run-ins with law enforcement is related to drugs and/or his very short stature?

NetFlix is now mainstream as a media outlet and Katt Williams is all over that medium.  Katt has a sizable following and corporate media is all about making money.  Remember Robert Downey, Jr. was a hardcore crackhead and was given chance after chance.

Will Katt Williams be able to keep himself out of trouble and out of jail? So he can hold on to this job.
