2019 trades/rumors
« on: January 31, 2019, 06:11:38 PM »
The New York Knicks and Dallas Mavericks have pulled off a blockbuster trade involving Kristaps Porzingis, and players across the league are still stunned by what just happened.

The Knicks traded Kristaps Porzingis, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Courtney Lee to the Mavs in exchange for DeAndre Jordan, Dennis Smith Jr. and Wesley Matthews. Draft picks are also involved.

He may not have picked up Pelinka's call. But he was not going to not pick up Magic call.

Magic Johnson and the Los Angeles Lakers have reportedly offered Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, Ivica Zubac, and 1st round pick for New Orleans Pelicans’ star Anthony Davis.

They have reportedly called Pelicans GM Dell Demps to let him know that one of the trade scenarios include almost their entire young core.

I'm not much on the NBA, but the Knicks just can't seem to get out of their own way. Bad ownership will do that to you.

All that said, will these players coming to the Knicks make a positive difference?

They did it for the draft picks. The question is have they drafted well in the past?  :tiptoe:

Lakers might as wait. AD said he's coming in 2020 regardless. Why give all that up to a player who is coming anyway

Because it would actually help them to free up space for another max contract player without having to deal with any other teams.

Paul George was supposed to be coming to LA, too.

Paul George agent wasn't Lebron's childhood friend either. Paul George didn't just build a mansion in LA

People keep repeating that as if the Lakers were actually pursuing him. He's the one that initiated the trade. The Lakers could have made an offer then but they didn't.  From that point on there was one goal in mind for Magic. Sign LeBron. While that was happening another unexpected move happen. Kawhi Leonard saying that he wanted to go back home and play and that the Lakers where at the top of his list. Now do you actually think the Lakers had PG on their top priority list? When two of the top three players in the league was showing interest in them. With one having a pen in his right hand already.
