????  But didn't MEAC folks give us grief for playing Auburn for 615K????

What MEAC folks specifically? I would never diss a school for getting a large payday. Especially in this day and age,,,,,,I would LOVE to see NSU get a BIG PAYDAY against UVA or VaTech, or anybody else that is FBS.

Don't have any, just asking a question.   Plus I trumped the amount, it was 515k.

 @Que^^^^for both being silly with his post AND his signature. Man, that particular sig with Obama slapping that fool cracks me up every time I see it.

But, seriously though, does anyone know of a BIGGER paycheck one of our HBCU’s has gotten for playing one of these Power 5 schools than what Cookman is getting from Nebraska?

BTW, in my first post here^^^I mentioned that Cookman played TSU in Nashville, first game of the season. Well, they brought the band too, and they made quite an entrance into the stadium. And it is a HUGE band also. They probably rolled into town 6-7 buses deep. When they performed at halftime, they were in formation  for damn all 100 yards.

The TSU band director is one of my frat. Can’t wait to see dude at a fraternity meeting and ask why they let Cookman’s band both outnumber them AND outperform them at halftime.

Went to a game between Bethune and Morgan in Baltimore. The band rolled in late 6 buses deep and dressed outside the gate. They proceeded to march in and the horns blew the MSU crowd and team silent. Momentum completely shifted and the Wildcats won the game. I agree moving this band would be costly but it’s definitely a great show.

^^^lew, I’ve seen a couple of episodes of the Netflix series. The Marching Wildcats ain’t no joke!!

Someone posted^^^that Nebraska does NOT allow visiting bands on their football field at halftime. If that REALLY IS true, they should have made an exception and thrown in an add’l $200K or so to conver the band’s expenses of traveling to Lincoln.

Or are they equating Cookman’s band with that, say, of Iowa State?   ::)

^^^ Strike I agree. After watching those series on Netflix I see way they are considered one of the "most disciple" marching bands in the country and certain among HBCUs. It's amazing the time and devotion that go into that unit. ;)

^^^well, if FAMU got $900K for playing Ohio State, that’s great. Not a proponent of our BCF programs playing these Power 5 heavyweights, but if we ARE going to do so, at least get PAID for being pummeled.
