actually a lot of us don't live in the hood anymore
(another thread for another day)
and we do play all of those sports

America is still a very segregated country. There are clearly mostly black neighborhoods in every town in this country. My statement of "hood" is any black neighborhood, regardless of income in that hood. And we don't play those sports in large enough numbers to say "we do that".

Soooo let me see if I understand you correctly...Any predominantly black neighborhood is the hood?   GTFOH

And when is the last time you've driven by a soccer field on a weekend? They are FILLED with US!!! That old tired excuse of kids not going outside is BS. Some don't but the majority does. Kids just don't like football as much anymore. Facts.

Participation in youth football continues to drop, and studies continue to link the sport to brain injury. How much do you let these statistics affect your children’s participation?

In the hotbed that is south Florida football, it is declining somewhat. Last year, perennial area powerhouse Vero Beach High had all three levels of football (freshman,JV and varsity) while some other schools barely fielded a JV team. In my district, there is a $100 yearly extracurricular fee that each students must pay. At some schools in the state it is as high as $500 FOR EACH SPORT. So there are some financial considerations there as well. The racial makeup of some teams mirrors the demographics of the school as well.
A past to cherish....a future to fulfill.

With all the divisive rhetoric on social media outlets like Facebook and Twitter, websites such as ours, especially message boards, are under the watchful eye of the Internet giants. And those giants are coming down hard on sites like this one due to the perception of the need for better "oversight".

We recognize the cultural conflict that exists and over the past few months we've been accused of allowing content in posts/threads that supposedly violates some advertiser's policies. Those threads weren’t an issue in the past, but for some reason, they are an issue now. And we are being penalized (financially) because of it.

As a result we are coming to you directly for your financial support>
