Here's more...

Quote
According to Mark Berman of FOX 26 in Houston, Griffin has enrolled at Texas Southern and intends to play for the FCS program.  Because he was an academic non-qualifier, however, he will have to sit out the 2014 season.

Quote
Until then, he’s eligible to practice with his new teammates.

Grambling '93,

If he was at Texas Southern for the sole purpose of getting his grades up and never intended on becoming a student athlete at Texas Southern then why did he join the football program, be issued a jersey, listed on the official roster, take a head shot in his jersey?

Quote
While he is listed as a tight end, TSU coach Darrell Asberry said Griffin will also play receiver for the Tigers.

"He can bring a lot of different things to the program," Asberry said. "He's a very exciting player.

"He's a great young man, a great person. The kid has great, great athletic ability. So we just want to make sure we put him in the right position to make plays for us."

Matters a damn about the article, Did Derrick Griffin, himself, publicly say that he was going to play football for Texas Southern, yes or no?

Matters a damn about the article, Did Derrick Griffin, himself, publicly say that he was going to play football for Texas Southern, yes or no?

This has become comical.

Matter of fact, yes he did.  I personally know him as I work on campus.  Ran into him in the cafeteria while he was with one of his girlfriends.

Yes, he publically said he is playing football for Texas Southern.

I asked him is he getting ready for Prairie View and he said verbatim, "Yes Sir! Coach and I have a bet that I won't have a 200-3 game."

Of course I didn't know what he meant so he clarified it by saying Coach Shannon made a ice bucket challenge that if he gets anything over 200 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns that Shannon will have a bucket of ice poured on his head and vice versa if he doesn't.

Oh, that's right.  Mark Berman with Fox 26 news wasn't in line with us so this comment "matters a damn" as well in addition to him stating on his OWN Twitter page that he was staying in his home town at Texas Southern.  He can't "stay at Texas Southern" and play football for the Aggies, Hurricanes, Cougars, Owls, Huskies, Longhorns, Bearkats, Lumberjacks or even those Panthers.

Look, I'm not doubting your information. You did say you were on campus where he was, but he left a grey area, because staying at home and I'm playing football for School X is two totally different things. Assumptions, SMH

"Griffin was listed on the TSU roster but that was strategic by the college to ward off schools from potentially recruiting him away when/if he became eligible."

Since this kid was a huge recruit, that tactic was a moot point. But I give it to this kid, he played his cards close, because he left plenty of wiggle room in the statements he has given. I honestly don't think he stays.

Normally a pimp gets money and seeing how this kid never accepted money nor did he sign a letter of intent he did not pimp anyone IMHO.  This was the author pimping the reader to get them to look at the blog.
