Here's another way to look at the Debt Ceiling:
Let's say, you come home from work and find there has been a sewer backup in your neighborhood. Your home has sewage all the way up to your ceilings.
What do you think you should do? ……
Raise the ceilings, or pump out the s**t?

You do understand that this is not an actual portrayal of what the debt ceiling is....
A better analogy would be you hired a lawn care service for your home he agrees to do keep your lawn cut and landscaped all year with payment coming in December.....
on thanksgiving you realized that you agreed to more services then you had money for so do you
A) tell the lawn care service guy to go f**k himself and be taken to court and possibly ruin your credit
B) Pay the guy for services rendered
