THIS ENTIRE STRING IS EXACTLY WHY TO THIS DAY I ONLY FOLLOW HBCU FOOTBALL. I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO INTEREST IN ANY OTHER TYPE OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL. ONE OF MY EARLIEST EXPERIENCES WITH AN HBCU WAS AS A 6TH GRADER VISITING THE CAMPUS OF VIRGINIA STATE UNIVERSITY AS A MEMBER OF THE PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA CHAMPION ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STRING QUARTET. (YES, I ONCE PLAYED CLASSICAL MUSIC WITH THE CELLO.) AFTER THE COMPETITION, WE STAYED FOR THE FOOTBALL GAME. I DON'T EVEN REMEMBER THE VSU COMPETITOR, BUT I KNEW AT THAT EARLY AGE I WOULD ONLY, REPEAT ONLY ATTEND AN HBCU. THIS WAS CIRCA 1962-63. THOSE EARLY EXPERIENCES I HAD AT AN HBCU WERE LIFE CHANGING AND AFFIRMING FOR ME. I TOLD MY CHILDREN (BOTH HBCU GRADUATES) THAT THEY COULD ATTEND ANY COLLEGE THEY CHOSE BUT THAT MY MONEY WOULD ONLY GO TO AN HBCU.
PLAIN AND SIMPLE, LUPITA IS A BEAUTIFICAL WOMAN AND ANYONE WHO CAN NOT FATHOM THAT SIMPLE FACT; I SIMPLY PITY THEM. THEY HAVE LET WHITE PEOPLE DEFINE FOR THEM WHAT IS BEAUTIFUL AND WHAT IS NOT.
I SEE I WAS NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO IMMEDIATELY THOUGHT OF YOU (NEYMAR) AFTER SEEING THIS POST.
I HAVE ALWAYS HAD AN INTELLECTUAL CURIOUSITY ABOUT APPARENT HISTORICAL OXIMORONS; i.e. BLACK CONFEDERATE SOLDIERS, JEWISH GUARDS IN CONCENTRATION CAMPS AND REPUBLICAN CHICKEN HAWKS. LIKE MANY OF MY GENERATION, WHEN I HEAR COUNTRY MUSIC I ALMOST ALWAYS AUTOMATICALLY CHATERGORIZE THOSE MUSICIANS AND THEIR FOLLOWERS AS RACISTS. I AM ALSO SMART ENOUGH TO KNOW THAT NOTHING IS EVER AS IT APPEARS SOLELY ON THE SURFACE AND THAT A TRULY A WISE MAN WILL TAKE THE TIME TO UNCOVER THE SHELL, TO SEEK THE TRUTH. I AM RECORDING THE "COUNTRY MUSIC" DOCUMENTARY AND WILL HAVE MORE TO SAY ABOUT IT AFTER WATCHING THE ENTIRE SERIES.
When time permits. GOOGLE the Carolina Chocolate Drops.
I AM NOT A FAN OF COUNTRY MUSIC, BUT I AM A FAN OF KEN BURNS' DOCUMENTARIES. I DECIDED TO WATCH THE SECOND EPISODE OF "COUNTRY MUSIC" AND I AM NOW MORE THAN EVER CONVINCED THAT MR. KEN BURNS IS A NATIONAL TREASURE. I BELIEVE I ENJOYED IT BECAUSE I AM A LOVER OF AMERICAN HISTORY AND THIS WAS A NEW FOUND ASPECT OF WHICH I HAD LITTLE REAL KNOWLEDGE OF. I FOUND MYSELF TOTALLY ENGROSSED IN THIS STORY, I LEARNED QUITE A LOT AND NOW HAVE A NEW FOUND RESPECT FOR COUNTRY MUSIC AND ITS INFLUENCE IN OUR SOCIETY AND CULTURE. I LEARNED QUITE A BIT ABOUT THE INFLUENCE OF AFRICAN-AMERICANS IN COUNTRY MUSIC TOO. KEN BURNS IS A MASTER STORYTELLER.
As a substance abuse peer counselor, I've encounter deaths by alcohol poisoning.
I WILL DEFER TO YOUR EXPERTISE, IN THIS AREA. I AM CURIOUS? HOW MANY DEATHS ARE YOU AWARE OF IN FIRST TIME DRINKERS?

^^^sir, no disrespect, but are you comparing Terrrence Howard with Frank Sinatra?!?!? They don't call FS "The Boss" for nothing.
I THOUGHT "THE BOSS" (BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN" WAS FROM NEW JERSEY? I'M JUST SAYING.
People are going to smoke. Do our best to keep it out of the hands of minors and let it be.
I DO NOT DISAGREE. HOWEVER, I AM NOT AWARE OF ANYONE WHO DIED AFTER CONSUMING THEIR FIRST FEW DRINKS OF LEGALLY PRODUCED ALCOHOL. I'M JUST SAYING.

I'M STILL RELATIVELY NEW TO ALABAMA, (7 YEARS) AND NOW I AM GLAD I DECIDED AT THE LAST MOMENT NOT TO DRIVE THE 80 MILES TO FLORENCE, ALABAMA TO SEE THIS GAME. I HAVE BECOME A DE FACTO AAMU FAN AND WENT TO SEE THEM IN THE NFL HALL OF FAME GAME IN CANTON, OHIO. FORTUNATELY I HAVE NOT YET RUN INTO ANY OF THAT BLATANT RACIST CRAP SINCE BEING HERE IN THE HUNTSVILLE / MADISON COUNTY, ALABAMA AREA. NOT QUITE SURE HOW I WOULD REACT BUT IT WOULD NOT BE PRETTY, OF THAT MUCH I AM SURE.
And we have been winning ugly too. The new QB (Gaston Cooper) is getting his legs under himself. Did better vs. Shaw than he did in the first game against AIC. We have a nice 6-3, 230-pound WR too, Dushon Davis, who caught the winning TD vs. Shaw... If he and Cooper really get on one accord, we could give some d-backs some problems.
I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOUR ASSESSMENT. HAVEN'T SEEN A GAME YET AND AM LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING THE UPCOMING GAME WITH AB ON THE INTERNET. CHOWAN LOOKS TO BE OUR BIGGEST CHALLENGE THIS YEAR. AFTER SOME CIAA GAMES, WE SHOULD HAVE A MUCH BETTER FEEL FOR WHERE BOWIE STANDS IN THE CIAA PECKING ORDER.
I BELIEVE THE GOVERNMENT HAS AN OBLIGATION TO PROTECT YOUTH FROM DANGERS, BOTH PROVEN AND SUSPECTED. HAVING SAID THAT, AFTER THE AGE OF 18 A YOUTH BECOMES A LEGAL ADULT AND IF THEY CHOOSE TO ENDANGER THEMSELVES WITH THE USE OF A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS PRODUCT, THAT IS THEIR RIGHT. RECENTLY I WAS STANDING IN LINE AT AN OUTSIDE LUNCH COUNTER AND A YOUNG WOMAN IN FRONT OF ME WAS VAPING. I MOVED ABUT THREE FEET BACK AND SHE LOOKED AT ME IN DISGUST. I RESPONDED THAT SHE COULD SMOKE THAT s**t ALL SHE WANTED BUT I WASN'T STANDING CLOSE TO HER DUMB a** . I QUIT SMOKING ABOUT TEN YEARS AGO. IF 7 PEOPLE HAD DIED AFTER SMOKING TOBACCO AFTER THE FIRST FEW TIMES, THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN ENOUGH EVIDENCE AND COMMON SENSE FOR ME TO HAVE QUIT IMMEDIATELY. SOME PEOPLE JUST HAVE NOT BEEN BLESSED WITH COMMON SENSE. THEY ARE IN THE HANDS OF GOD, ALONG WITH FOOLS AND BABIES.
WACO, Texas – Ferris State (Mich.) was holding onto a 34-28 lead early in the fourth quarter against Central Washington when the Bulldogs scored three times in a four-minute span to put the game out of reach, winning 62-28. Ferris State keeps their No. 2 ranking in the AFCA Division II Coaches' Top 25 Poll and received one first place vote this week. FULL RELEASE (PDF)
Valdosta State (Ga.) remains in the top spot after a 48-21 victory over Ohio Dominican. The Blazers will get their first real test of the 2019 season as they host No. 20 West Alabama to open up Gulf South Conference action. Minnesota State, Tarleton State (Texas) and Notre Dame (Ohio) round out the top five.
The only other Top 25 matchup in week 3 is a big Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference game as No. 9 Colorado State-Pueblo hosts No. 17 Colorado School of Mines. The ThunderWolves will be looking for some revenge because Mines won last year's meeting, 35-21. The only newcomer to this week's Top 25 is No. 25 Bowie State (Md.). The Bulldogs are 2-0 after a 26-21 victory over Shaw (N.C.).
