This is an admirable endeavor but probably a little overambitious. Before anything of this magnitude can come to fruition Black owned banks will have to improve their infrastructure by making major investments in upgrading in technology. Most of em including M&F are at least 10 years behind in this area.

General Discussion Forum / Re: Is America really ready for....

Don't know what America is ready for...all I know is that I don't want to see it and I WILL not watch it..

Right behind you!

Wow...

To be so open with it, I wonder how many others she approached like this in the past? Sounds funny but at the same time that could have went south in a hurry if she felt disrespected or rejected and she was vengeful. I mean how many sexual harassment claims are started like this? And it wasn't even your fault Cholly!  :o

Thank God it didnt go down like that though. I guess when she is around you need a female in the room.

P, girl had a big smile on her face when I left... just like nothing ever happened.

Yeah, man I bet you trembled worse than crack addict sitting on a block of ice.  I'm glad you did the right thing but I bet yo a-- was SCED!!

Sorry it never happened to me.  ::) OH GOD I MUST BE UGLY!  :'( I mean it happened to Cholly and he admitted he's not a looker.  :tongue2:

I have met both you and CHOLLY in person before.  And YES you are ugly, j/k.   :lmao:

 :lmao: :lmao:

General Discussion Forum / Re: Serena Williams at the ESPY's

Serena should be more modest in the way she dresses. In my opinion she sets a very poor example for African American teens and young ladies. She doesn't vote, practices tennis half heartedly and dresses like a high price hooker.
I recall a few year back when she and Venus came to Charlotte to do an exhibition and how she acted like she didn't want to be there. All in front of young ladies, including my daughter who idolized her. I was hoping the past year of serious injuries would give her proper perspective.

This will be interesting. I have an htc Evo which I adsolutely love along with the google operating system.

Unlike what they did with her book (groups like WND buying up thousands and essentially giving them away in return for a subscription or something else) to make it look like sales were really good, I guess they forgot to buy up lots of movie tickets and then give them away in order to pack the theaters.

Wow, I'm also shocked local republicans didnt buy blocks of tickets. I think they may be trying to send her a message.

Neymar had to return to his home village in Africa. He's in an arranged marriage and must go meet the happy gro... I mean bride. :tiptoe:

Is one political movement entitled to ownership of the minds and Souls of Black Folk?

In my opinion the answer is NO. I do not understand how we as a people can continue to blindly give our support to one party.

Politics / Re: tom Joyner calling out Cornell West & Tavis

I said Iā€™d wait until something pissed me off so bad that I would have the words harsh enough to express what I was really feeling about him and his side piece - I mean side kick - Cornel West.

Hey Tom it's about damn time you opened your eyes!!

"Njoku was taken to jail on June 24, 2010, which was a Thursday. The next day, Chase Special Investigations, realized it was a mistake. The check was legitimate. The Investigator called Auburn Police and left a message with the detective handling the case, but it was her day off. So Njoku stayed in jail for the entire weekend. Finally, on Monday, he was released."

Methinks this is pretty much all the story that needs to be told.

True. They had an innocent man locked up which is what matters most. I imagine Chase's Special Investigator is no longer with the company.

Dude is about to be paid and If said persons are still employed by Chase they may not have a job after this is over with. I would have used a few choice words with that teller asking all those personal questions.

Me thinks there are a few details missing from this story. Anyways the teller was not at fault. She is required by law to take reasonable actions in determining the origin of funds, even if it means asking questions which could seem a bit personal. Considering this gentleman had a previous charged off account she was understandably being cautious. Most of us don't know that if a bank customer presents a counterfeit item or launders money and it was determined the teller could have prevented it by asking a few questions then not only could she lose her job but she could receive a prison sentence as well.
The breakdown in this process occured when Chase failed to authenticate one of their own checks.

Look up Vibrio Vulnificus and I DARE you to eat another raw oyster....

As much as I love eating raw oysters I gave up the habit about ten years ago. Around 1998 - 2001 to many people in North Carolina were getting bouts of gastroenteritis as a result of eating them.
