General Discussion Forum / Re: somali pirates kill four americans

2 Somali pirates were killed and 13 captured. They all need to be bought to the US for a swift trial followed by execution.

No attack ever happened.

I like a church that is somewhat orderly and I prefer a pastor who stays on message about Jesus.  I don't need to hear about prosperity, social activism or building new edifices. Our service starts at 10:30 and we're always out by 12. You can praise all you want while the choir is singing but when passa begins his sermon all that stuff has to stop or he will ask an usher to attend to you.

Politics / Re: BLACK AMERICAN DREADS BLACK HISTORY MONTH
« on: February 08, 2011, 11:17:16 AM »
After reading Mr. Marcus's blog I actually understand most of the points he's trying to make; however he strikes me as one who does this purely for show. In fact, he's no different than the very people he's accusing of politicizing Black History Month. He just performs his minstrel show from a different platform.
If he really knew Black History he'd know that the contributions of many good, well intentioned caucasians are recorded and honored. Besides, if the telling of American history was balanced then perhaps there would be no need for a Black History Month.

I vote we get distracted since the facts of this issue are so irrefutable.

Wrong again . It had nothing to do with putting Sputnik in orbit.  Reagan fooled them with that phantom "laser weapon" that we were supposed to have and never had.  They spent tons of money on trying to defeat a weapon we never had.  Also their configuration of military forces was costly---if you were a platoon leader or CO you could not undertake any independent action in combat--you had to get permission from central command for anything action you wanted to take.  Also Afganistan was the last straw.  By the time the Soviet Union went under they were spendiing .98 on every dollar for defense.
Dream on Ken. So you don't think with us landing on the moon first scared the hell out of the Russians and made them spend more money? It got them going down a trail they couldn't recover from. GO VIKINGS!!!

SOMEBODY is dead wrong.

The Soviets landed on the moon almost 19 years before we did....

Look it up. ::)

Cholly I thought they were about 6 years ahead of our first unmanned probe?   ???

I suspect she knew what "sputnik moment" referred to but was so determined to oppose Mr. President that she came off sounding like a babbling idiot again. This reminds me of her idiotic attempt to oppose the first ladys war on obesity.

Cholly the right thing to do would be to tell the mom. I have a 13 year old daughter and if she eeeever did anything like that I'd want my neighbor to tell me.
Go ahead and tell it. You could be preventing another teen pregnancy.

Does Sarah Palin have blood on her hands?

 Ya'll were the only HBCU in the parade and they go to commercial???? It's not like HBCUs get invited every year, like some of the bands do. While it is great to have the parade replayed on Hallmark it will not provide nowhere near the exposure ya'll would have gotten on the major networks.  Glad about your participation but very disappointed about this turn of events.  I was really looking forward to seeing them.

I agree. I watched with the Family this morning and we were like What happened to NCCU? All that money it cost NCCU to get to Pasadena and those mofo's didn't even show em?

That FOOL is lucky to be alive.

So are the rest of that Board.

She did NOT make the situation better and in fact, escalated it to violence.  >:(

You are so right. I was like wtf is she doing? Why didn't she hit him the head with something hard?
