Couple of my favorite memories from the mid seventies:

I know this might seem strange but we were allowed to smoke in certain classes.
I though that was " the coolest and most hip" thing any student could do. Even though I wasn't a smoker then nor am i one now.....but i just enjoyed that freedom of choice despite the hazards.

I had the opportunity to meet and talk with Congresswoman Shirley A. Chisholm. She was a very intelligent and delightful person.

amen to that.  last week at physical therapy the waiting room was packed.  there was one seat open.  after checking to see that no ladies or elderly people were standing i took the only open seat.  the woman i sat next to said i had sat down in her son's seat.  i asked if her son was having therapy.  she said no.  then her son runs up.  looks at me and goes back to running around the waiting room.  she wants me to get up so her son can have a place to sit.  i told her no.  she goes and gets the receptionist.  the receptionist comes over and asks me if it was true.  i told the receptionist that the seat was empty.  i also told her if the seat wasn't empty she should teach her children something called manners and have them give up their seat so adults can have a seat.  when they called me to start physical therapy i told her she was a bad mother.

y04185, I commend you for speaking out. Usually I'm reluctant to saying anything in fear of the "garbage" that comes from the parent and even the child. I'm a strong believer in the "spare the rod, lose the child" philosophy or I beat a-- when necessary.

^^^^^ A long the same line. I dislike when the minister say, "if you love Jesus, just wave your hand or stand on your feet" that really bugs me. If I didn't love Jesus I wouldn't be there in the first place.  Just sayin...

The Turkey Day Classic is also ASU's Homecoming....at least that has been my understanding.
