I never said the thread was inappropriate.  Just voiced my opinion that’s all.

I don’t wanna hear about split second decisions, putting their lives on the line, etc.  If you can’t handle the job then damn it don’t sign up for it.

Sick of this.  Just sick.

Nothing will come of this, unlike the black cop that killed that innocent white woman

1.  The story about the mentally ill person was posted about two hours ago - many have not had a chance to respond yet.

2.  Some people choose not to discuss depressing stuff.  It’s their prerogative

2.  Sh@t like that is probably why they don’t find the old joke  that funny anymore.

Anytime I see a pic like that one I think of the Ad Brian Kemp ran last year with that boy and that gun like someone really wants one of those mud ducks he calls daughters.  Toting that gun  and is probably softer than wet tissue paper.  ::)

Well maybe its a generational thing.  It was always said when you had a preetty girl baby you needed a new shotgun to keep all the boys away. I guess those of us in the AARP time range get it while the younger crowd thinks first about gun violence.

Again if I had posted this

someone would say its promoting the use of marijuana.

No I get the concept, and the pic you showed wasn’t as bad.  But the one I saw with the shirtless dudes with semiautomatic rifles  surrounding this little boy looking uncomfortable and the little ghetto chick with the peace sign just rubbed me the wrong way.

His step daddy already said he would be glad to be a Pelican.  Hell I would go anywhere if they made me a millionaire.   Besides, the NY market is a lot for a rookie to handle.  They’ve sucked for over 20 years and while they’re loyal to the Knicks, they are BRUTAL.

NO better make the most of it and build a team around him while they can.  Once they rookie contract is up I doubt he will sign a second deal.

The thugs want shoot them, but they will break in their cars or Rob them....

They just don’t know...mess around and end up in The Bluff if you want to.    I made a left off of MLK and ended up in the Bluff one time - messed around and busted my tire on a pothole...I hauled @zz on 3 tires back up to that Wal Mart

Heck, run into the right family from the graduation. I can hear somebody’s mama or daddy now “they better take dey @zzes on - much money as I paid for this degree?  I wish they would”.

They never protest too close to the festivities though.  They’ll probably be down there by Ivan Allen Blvd ol punks.

I really hate this type of thing and it should not be encouraged.

Why?  What do you have against humor?

Because I don't think this type of thing is funny. Because it promotes the idea that women and girls "belong" to a man (and don't get me wrong here dads should reasonably protect their families). Because no one does this with their sons. Because why would you allow your daughter to go somewhere if you thought you needed to threaten the boy with a gun? Because did someone do that to him when he went to pick up her momma? It's just rude, inappropriate, communicating a threat. It's not funny.

Saw a pic last week where a young man and a lady were in the pic with what appeared to be the girl’s father  and brothers - all of her male family had automatic weapons in their hands.   The girl was throwing up the peace sign and the boy looked hella uncomfortable.

Couldn’t have been my son.  That pic would have never been taken.   I love my son just like you love your lil fast @zz daughter.  If it’s that serious y’all fools take her to the prom.

This pic is a little better I guess because it just has the dad with the gun and the young man isn’t in it, but still.

I get the joke, but I’m sensitive about black males and gun play.

That’s terrible.  Prayers for him and his family.

At the rate he's going, he will have 10 before he turns 35.

I think that is his plan.   I read somewhere that he wanted 10 kids, or at least I think I read that somewhere.  Hell I can’t remember.

I’m confused by your post VG and Bearforlife too.

A performer like Whitney or Mary J can’t present their version of a songwriter ‘s work without a side eye ?

That songwriter is getting theirs regardless of who performs.  I know you both know that.

I don’t think Bear4Life was giving side eye.  I think she was just pointing out that people do covers of songs.

I on the other hand am giving Mary J side eye.  People do covers all of the time, but she goes overboard IMO. Per the Net, she has done almost 60 covers.  She ALWAYS does remakes and often times they aren’t better than the original.  They don’t sound bad and most of her versions I like, but they never  sound better than the original.

Her remake Sweet Thang by Rufus and Chaka Khan is probably my favorite - Our Love was pretty good too.  I’m Going Down Wasn’t bad either.

But A Dream by Debarge she should have left alone period. Natural woman should have NEVER come through her lips.

If everyone divorced over infidelity over 85% of Americans would divorced. I recently read statistics stating that over 80% of men have cheated and 65% of women.

I can believe that.
Women are probably higher.  They can cheat and you would NEVER know unless God just wanted to expose it.

We are a clever bunch.

I like it. Is it better than the original? Absolutely not!

People have covered songs for generations. Whitney Houston's I Will Always Love You is a cover of Dolly Parton. People will always cover songs. Luther Vandross covered a lot of songs.

Let’s not forget the Queen of remakes, Ms.  Mary J Blige.  That heifer will remake a song in a minute.  You could make 2 albums off of the remakes she has done over the years.

I think there are some songs that you really shouldn’t touch - Before I Let Go was in this category for me.  However, what’s done is done.

It’s not bad, but these young Beyhive kids probably swear Beyoncé has the best version - if they even realize it is a remake.
