Just because you schedule a PWC does not mean you will be kicking everyone's a-- that come your way...If your program is not up to par all around you will just be losing to them every year.
Well GA Southern and Ga Tech run the same offense and maybe defense, so SCSU had a feeling of what to expect from GSU. The major problem I saw against TECH was the 3-4 defense is not the best defense to play against the flexbone. The other thing I saw was poor QB play. Playing Tech did not hurt SCSU at all.
Simply schedule those FCS schools during the regular season (instead of collecting those FBS beatdown checks) if you all really want to compete with them.
Exactly. That's what we've always tried to do here at Fort Valley and Albany State. We know that, in order, for us to compete against the schools in our division, we have to get familiar with their style of play. That's why we complain about scheduling HBCU Division IAA opponents because they don't benefit us on our level nor help us whenever it comes down to the playoffs. That's why I am glad next year's schedule will have a mixture of both Gulf South and South Atlantic and maybe an HBCU team.

How do you justify the Legacy Bowl or any bowl game for that matter that features the MEAC to "magically" improve coaching at MEAC schools?
Do you feel that a bowl game with the MEAC will generate the millions in net revenue each schools need to improve facilities and hire more coaches with experience to teach fundamentals in all sports, not just football?
Do you feel that the post season, SCG, Heritage Bowl and/or playoffs have improved the coaching at JSU?
I ask these questions because your OP in this thread makes me think that you feel that the Legacy would improve all coaching at all MEAC schools.
Not for or against the Bowl Game or trying to debate with you on anything, I just want to understand your logic behind your statement.
it is obvious that the coaching staff at scsu will not get them out of the first round. scsu has a decision to make. keep the coach that wins in the regular season or find a coach that will get the team past the first round and possibly get them into the championship game. the leadership of the school has to make that commitment. so far they have not.
Another reason why I am in favor of us choosing a coach from a conference who knows how to win in the playoffs.

It some of those JSU, Grambling, and Southern and TU teams participated in the playoffs, we would have had serveral wins by now. However, some of those games are $1 million for each team. You just can't walk away from that.

More realistically, if we ain't going to pay, we need to follow the WSSU method; or follow the Pioneer League method. With half of either conference dedicated to actually spending enough to win; we're going to continue to have these issues.

Humm, let me see, we played Appt. State, Ga State and ODU. In the near future we should be more competitive with the coaching change and more stability with the program. For the last five years, we had to schedule whoever was willing to play us. I am not going to get on the hbcus that refused to play us during our transition. Now that the MEAC is splitting, we will have more abilities to schedule these types of games that you are talking about.
I also know that several MEAC schools (who shall remain nameless) did run from NCCU after the Eagles won the BCF title in 2006. 
SWAC schools do routinely schedule FCS schools even though we do not recieve a bid to the playoffs. I hope you MEAC folks collectively wake up, see reality for what it is, and adjust accordingly. This is not smack. Our brand is taking a SERIOUS beating, both on and off the field.
Wow! Dude said it is embarrassing to lose in the playoffs but he doesn't think it is embarrassing to lose to a div. 2 team. Now that ought to tell you something.
