As a Bobcats/Hornets season ticket holder I watch regular and post season NBA games and this dream team crap needs to end.  Hopefully there will be a hard cap instituted in 2017 which will make deals like this harder to construct.

Agreed. The strong continue to get stronger while the small market teams are left to suck forever. I hate it.

There has never really been parity in the NBA. The 80s, the decade that many point out as the NBA's peak, the Lakers or the Celtics played in the Finals every year.  And we can go back to the 60s and 70s and those two teams playing for the championship almost every year.

I understands how it looks, but the NBA has always been this way in terms of star free agents going big market, championship contenders.

No star free agent serious about winning a title is gonna play in Milwaukee, Cleveland, Minnesota, Charlotte or Toronto.

This is why college basketball has always been more appealing to me. I'm just hanging on by a thread with the NBA. Especially since I almost never get to see Charlotte play on tv. If this deal goes through, I'm done.

Hey, if you like watching basketball that really isn't that good, then feel free.

Ratings speak for themselves.

The NCAA Tournament creates that interest, not the regular season. Nobody really watches college basketball until it gets close to the tournament.

Who watches regular season NBA basketball?

Exactly

No one really watches the NBA until the Conference Finals. People don't rush home from church to catch the Sunday NBA matchup. No one is willing to miss their favorite Thursday show to watch NBA on TNT. Regular season NBA TV ratings are garbage. Way worse than college basketball. There aren't any true rivalries in the NBA anymore. You think people still care when LA and Boston play? The NBA may be more fun to talk about because there are more household names, but very few people still actually watch more than a few minutes of most games.

I don't understand how you can be a fan of college sports, where the fans root for their school to land every 4 or 5-star recruit out there (even encouraging underhanded tactics) and be against the Heat going after Melo.

What is there to not understand? There's much more parity among the major conference schools in college basketball. How many people even had UCONN playing in the Final Four last year?

Why would anyone want to see one franchise buy a juggernaut roster and win a championship every year? Where is the entertainment in that?

I'm not a Miami Heat fan and I'm damn sure not about to be one of those shameless bandwagon fans just along for the ride. I grew up a Hornets fan. I've always hated the Heat. Unlike most of these hacks, I'm not going to switch my allegiance just because one team is hot right now.

If this happens, I'll be done watching the NBA. I'm not interested in seeing all the league's talent play for one team. I already think (and I've said this before) that college basketball is way better anyway.

So what's the rub here? On the surface, this sounds like a wonderful idea.

I was thinking the same thing. Am I missing something?

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Benedict College will offer club sports beginning with the 2014-15 academic year, it was announced by Benedict College Director of Athletics Willie Washington.

Benedict will offer club sports in football, men's and women's basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball, tennis, and other sports where there is student demand.
"We are excited to offer this opportunity to the Benedict College student body," Washington said. "This will be a fun and exciting way for students to participate in a variety of sports."

With club sports, students do not need to meet NCAA requirements. Participating students will need to meet Benedict College requirements, and be in good standing both academically and financially with the college.

At the conclusion of the club season, students will be able to try out for roster spots on the varsity team, provided they meet all NCAA requirements and are in good standing with Benedict College.

Benedict fields varsity teams in 16 sports and competes in NCAA Division II and is a member of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

I like how the city wastes money with this shit
This one time I have to agree with u Neymar. ...

Commissioner Goodell made it very clear that a new stadium was the only way Atlanta will host another Super Bowl. And who knows how many other big time events this new stadium will attract. I'm not saying anything is wrong with the Georgia Dome, but it has the look and feel of a stadium built in the early '90s. Since Atlanta isn't a 'destination' city, it's going to take a shiny new venue to lure the big events to town.

596
Very futuristic looking, sort of like that place in Australia.  It won't be long before the Panther start crying for a new venue. It is my understanding they have already begun to lock down the land for it.

If you're referring to the Carolina Panthers, this information is incorrect. Bank of America Stadium (current stadium) is undergoing renovations as we speak.

What is this, preschool? So if Winston needs a handeler now, how the hell is he supposed to make in next year in the NFL?

Looks too much like the Big East logo, IMO. I saw nothing wrong with the old logo.

The NBA is boring. Doesn't hold a candle to college basketball, IMO.
