Sports Forum / Re: Congrats to the Chiefs, their fans and Andy Reid
« on: January 20, 2020, 08:18:46 PM »
From my days living in KC, I remember just how much that town loves their Chiefs. The Royals winning the World Series a few years ago was really cool, but KC is unquestionably a Chiefs town first. The city deserves a modern day SB win. No other fans anywhere on the planet bring the noise like Chiefs Kingdom.

Every fanbase can say the same. They don't travel except when the Rams and Cards were in St Louis.

No, every fan base cannot say the same. The Guinness Book of World Records actually lists Arrowhead Stadium as the loudest stadium in the world. That’s an actual verifiable world record. And unlike the Seahawks, Arrowhead Stadium doesnt have overhanging structures to amplify crowd noise. And actually, Chiefs Kingdom travels very well nowadays for big games. I can’t speak for what the fan base was like decades ago, but today they are unquestionably one of the best in the league.

You know that was done in 2014.

I m happy for their fanbase but  its very subjective to say what team has the best fanbase.

It was done in 2014 but opposing players still say today how much they hate playing in Arrowhead because of the noise. If you experience it in person, you’ll know it stands out from other stadiums.

Yes, it’s a little subjective to rank exactly which fan bases are better in order...but most opposing fans who’ve been to Arrowhead would agree that Chiefs Kingdom is better than average, at the very least. Check the attendance numbers.

Lamar Jackson....

His story is far from over. I can’t wait to see how this new class of super qbs leaves their mark on the league.

Sports Forum / Re: I’ve been telling y’all Roy Williams is a fraud
« on: January 11, 2020, 07:47:35 PM »
:lmao:

Clemson came into the Dean Dome and ended a 58 game road losing streak vs UNC. I bet ol Dean clawing to get out that grave to return to the bench. Carolina is the joke of the ACC this year....

UNC is having a subpar season, but how does that make Roy Williams a fraud? Surely I don’t need to list his resume.

At this point people who still ask that question are both ignorant and lazy. 1) You have to be living under a rock to be a part of the HBCU world and still not know the four major conferences...but even if you don’t know then 2) it’s far too easy to just take a moment to do a quick google search and you’ll have your answer. In 2020, not knowing is a choice and I’ve just about run out of patience with the willfully ignorant.

I think you might have misunderstood the confusion.  It's not a question about what teams are in the CIAA, but what games count for the conference record.

The CIAA announced back in the summer that every school would play the other 11 schools twice, thus giving a 22 game conference schedule.  It looks like the Chancellors/Presidents didn't officially approve the change so it reverted back to the 16 game conference schedule, where a team plays the teams from the other division only once.  Problem is at that point the schools had already finalized their schedules.  So now for example a school from the Southern Division is playing all the Northern Division schools twice, but only one of those respective games counts as a conference game.  So trying to figure out which game out of the 2 counts is where the confusion has hit.

Egg on my face. Disregard that rant.

He was a solid individual that grew the NBA in more ways than some may realize. RIP.

I remember when he first announced that players would have to dress professionally before and after games. The players and most of Black America were outraged, calling it a “racist” and “discriminatory” policy. Today, it’s basically a competition to see who can dress the nicest on any given night.

As a band geek myself, it’s always exciting for me to see so many people talking about one. CONGRATS to the Human Jukebox for an extremely productive trip out to LA. Every performance was flawless! Excellent recruiting tool in an area where most people probably have no clue even what an HBCU is. BRAVO!

ESPN is now reporting that a deal has been reached. SMH. I think NYG would’ve been a much better fit but I like the guy so I wish him the best.

If he’s smart he’ll stay far away. Nothing good will come of this.

I really enjoyed the performance but it would’ve been even better with much much less of the announcer. I still don’t understand why they have to talk from start to finish through the show. Other than that, I think it’s great that a west coast crowd was exposed to an HBCU band.

I guess the exposure is a good thing but my guys never play well on tv. The way this season is going, as long as they don’t sh*t the bed I’ll take a moral victory.

It feels like they’re making a huge mistake but time will tell. I mean it’s not like us Panther fans aren’t used to our team losing.
