I'm just tired of seeing HBCUs get out coached by pwcs.  A&T held their own in the first half, but the Duke staff was studying them like they were a specimen under a microscope. They came back in the second, put the plan in place and blew them away. Is it staffing, lack of skilled staff, I don't get it. It happens most of the time when HBCUs play pwcs. We do ok in the first half but then..... :o

They weren't out coached but overly platooned through  changes on the O-Line.   That was Cutcliffe ace in the hole and he used it.   Yes A&T held their own in the first half, but those fresh bodies, coming in and out eventually showed benefit for DUKE.    Imagine running a marathon against a group of fresh interchanging  runners  every five miles as you trod alone.   Should those games be played.  IMHO, YES!  Good teams and coaches like those challenges.  It reveals, where they are, where their weaknesses are and what needs improving.   Deon knows his weaknesses at JSU and should he continue on his path will become a power too in his division.  Power 5 coaches and staffs have this saying  "out recruit".   Meaning- find the best tackles, receivers, QB's, etc in that years recruiting class and look for better ones that next year.  Capler, if you played on playgrounds as a youngster, you wanted to play with the older boys because they were  better and your game got better too from the competition of having to jump higher and run faster to keep up.  The coaches know what happened and will improve on getting it better.  Its not a lack of skilled staff but numbers when your bench is not as deep especially as the visiting team with limited numbers. NCCU played them and saw the same scenario first half vis-a-vis second half.

NCCU and the rest of the MEAC schools remaining will survive.  A&T, Hampton, FAMU and their coattail Bethune made a strong business decision which invariably affects their bottomline.     We all hated long term friends to part in that manner, but it must play out in the books with stakeholders who equally love all the aforementioned institutions with true old friends hoping them the best.    Really, why hate on another families decision of moving to a new home in a new neighborhood having  wherewithal to succeed for the benefit of the family and persons next door- left behind prays for your failure.  I didn't come from that type family nor applaud those who differed.

:lmao:  Cost more than the Bayou Classic.     :lmao:  Wonder what WSSU is getting out of this.  Hope they are getting paid more than what is common for our size stadium. Didn't pay that much for DUKE, CAROLINA, nor STATE.!  People did miss FB being its the first home game.  NCCU is getting all they can get.

Everybody can't be all the want to be.

THAT'S INTERESTING TO HEAR.   We will know for sure by Sunday.  Best of luck and a healthy ending game for all involved.

The problem with many persons, believing we have our proper space and place, should not speak out like Coach Sanders.  Sanders say what many have experienced for years without a platform nor stump to express their thoughts.   ALL POWER TO THE MAN BECAUSE HE IS 100% RIGHT IN HIS ASSESSMENT OF WHAT HAS HAPPENED HERETOFORE WITH THE PRESS AND ELECTRONIC MEDIA.  COACH KNOWS HOW THAT SYSTEM WORKS AND ITS SIMPLY IN LIMBO WITH HBCU'S.  Some sound like a bunch handkerchief heads wanting to down any opinion or person who address that which they have accepted as normal.  God bless the man, and if you cannot  help, crawl back in your hole ASTFU with pungent remark of where he finished college.   I APPLAUD HIM.  HE FINISHED.

Never fear the truth.  That is what happened.  Duke was running 2 plays to T's one.   Duke had a longer bench and could substitute fresh bodies on series.  They wore T down with that scheme.    Nothing against T but it happens.  I enjoyed the game and T while licking their wounds can afford the aspirins.  They are among many FCS teams playing power % opponents.

Now we got to face the mighty rams.  If talk is as strong as the supposed team.    :tiptoe:  If not.   :tiptoe:  Either WAY there will be excuses but I am predicting an NCCU victory by 35 points.   That is conservative.

THOSE DOGS HAVE NOTHING TO  BE ASHAMED .I was there.   Duke ran a hurry up offense, ( NCCU ran on Alcorn)knowing A&T bench was not deep enough to sustain aggressions from its platooning o- line.  That 25 seconds meant nothing to Duke

If she is the front runner for the MEAC job, our conferenced will surely have nailed its coffin closed.   NCCU folk, being polite, did not renewing the contract. Here is hoping he has list of strong administrative  FUND RAISING business types who have had success elsewhere, building a team AND staff of professionals that have secured outside funds to enhance the program.  When fund raising was mentioned the conversations always ended with we need more students and increase in ticket prices but wouldn't lift a finger in pursuit of third party funds.  Our footprint in RTP of NC  an area replete with Fortune 500 companies.   Mr Aggie Professor, who started the post would not care if we successfully had any program or conference.   You all left.

This has happened here and it affected their  lives for years afterwards in employment and recommendations.  Never a moment to gloat when students default personally

on such serious issues.   Hopefully he will be counseled and possibly return to the team if the University and coach find that this faux pas can correct itself without bleeding red to the whole team.   This is no time to lock someone up and throw away the key.   Let this be a lessoning eye opener for the rest of the leagues participants.

Jerry Mack stays nowhere long.   NCCU , his longest tenure in coaching was a walk into goldmine handed to him by the AD and all he need do was throw the ball on the practice field and keep it in order.  Therein he is credited.  You win with talent and NCCU was replete from sound recruiting at each position that was there when he came on the scene.     The coach that preceded him had done a helluva job BUILDING that  program he inherited.  He walked in winning without a change in roster- horses already in the stable.  When the prior coaches players moved on through graduation etc, Mack saw the handwriting on the wall, knowing he had not replaced those thoroughbreds  it was time for his usual , SCAT  moving  before the rent was due.   Didn't expect  he would stay at Rice University long- A doormat, a head coach carousel ride   in a tough conference.   But a big part of  coaching is knowing when to leave.  That he has GOT.  If I found myself in that situation and knowing the hammer would come down soon I'd leave too.

So much for MAGA.  That really irks many who were told and believed Africans Americans couldn't play that position at the college or pro level.  African Americans never brought into that thesis but it prevailed during the Bell - Rozelle era of NFL,  If Mahone had come along 40 years ago, he and the other starters would not have been drafted as QB but as WR or DB or not at all.  The AFL, an upstart league, broke that mindset  needing wins and butts in the seats to survive started knocking down walls and  glass ceilings.  Those irked will jump at the opportunity to criticized decisions on each play on TV including personal family events.    It is still sublime but there.   Prescott!  Great example.
