This does not reflect badly on all HBCUs, just FAMU. UGA players getting arrested almost every off season and Penn State sweeping the sexual abuse of children under the rug to protect its football program don't reflect poorly on all PWIs, do they? Just saying

This is too funny!

Regardless of gender, child abuse is child abuse. Which happens to be the case in this situation.

This is a horrifying display of parenting on so many levels. Obviously, there is something seriously wrong with the young girl that no amount of whippings will make right. What type of man would wail away on his daughter while pulling her hair?  And the mother?  She was speaking to this child like she was some female enemy of hers. This young girl needs professional counseling, needs to be taken away from them and placed in CPS, and the parents ought to be arrested and charged appropriately.  And they posted the entire thing on social media?  Where's the retard smiley face?  Never mind.  This will do  >:(
...............thank you sir (madam?), and could not agree MORE with this comment in EVERY respect.

Don't wish to offend any of you peeps, but my four siblings and I were disciplined like this (NEVER in public though), and it was wrong THEN and wrong NOW.  If I EVER observe ANY parent subjecting their child to THIS kind of cruelty I am calling law enforcement and having their a.z.zes locked up.

This video is F'ed up, and I can not stress that enough.  >:(
It's sir.  ;D

...the division amongst these three HBCU's has to do with some angst that SSU left the SIAC.  Many have still not got over it and hate us.  I say "let's wish each other well, and stop with the HATE."

Conquero,

One thing I am not clear about is this hate towards SSU. How many years has it been since that happened? Life moves on and so should we.  Yes, how SSU  left the SIAC and went D1 left a bad taste in a lot of mouths,  but again that was a long time ago. I love SSU and have no hate in my heat towards you all. I think you guys know that.  I even love ASU (...did I say that?  *checks the calendar, ok yes I did  ;) )!  The way I see it is that we all have too much to lose by having issues with each other on this level. Going back and forth against each other, no matter who did what is foolish to me.

Thanks for the b-day shout out.
i feel the same about FVSU and the rest of the SIAC.  Heck, I attended a gala in December in the ATL, where the real enemy of Albany, FVSU and SSU was CLEARLY defined, and it wasn't each other.  I can't wait until we go after this entity(enemy) with ALL guns blazing.

As for the topic, I hope things work out for FVSU.  I really do. We all have seen perilous times at our respective institutions at one time or another. We should be supporting each other in situations like these, and leave the smack talk for the appropriate time and thread.  This is neither. Good luck, FVSU.

Sadly, many people write the way they talk.

I am beginning to think these people have secretly declared war on us.  Instead of trying to give up our weapons, we should be arming ourselves, stop killing one another and pay attention to the real threats to our existence. Because it is real!  >:(
Check this out.  Old story, not as publicized.

DALLAS –– A state district judge on Wednesday raised the bond for the man accused of shooting an 8-year-old boy at point blank range.
In order for Brian Cloninger to bond out of jail, he must pay either $1 million in cash or $5 million bond using a bail bondsman, meaning he’ll be on the hook for $500,000 of that amount. On Oct. 11, the judge ruled that Cloninger must pay $200,000 to bond out of jail.
He was prepared to post that amount on Wednesday, which prompted the hearing. Prosecutors argued to State District Judge Larry Mitchell that the family was not truthful in previous testimony about their efforts to acquire the money to bond him out. That argument, the prosecution said, led to the reduction in bond on Oct. 11.
"They basically manipulated the system and put themselves in a position to have the judge rule a certain way. A couple of days later, they had the bond money,” said Dallas County District Attorney Craig Watkins.
Cloninger, 46, is accused of shooting 8-year-old Donald Maiden, Jr. as the boy played tag in his northeast Dallas apartment complex. Maiden is recovering at a Dallas rehabilitation facility. He lost portions of his jaw.

This is just too much. It's a shame.  15 years old... and a black man did it  *face palm*

DAW you're a good man and I know you have a good reason for your last post.

My only concern is the fact that the justice system  did not follow the SAME standard for Troy Davis that it would have if he were white and the person he was accuse of killing were black. At the very least his sentence should have been commuted to life without the possibility of parole since there was a problem with the case against him.

Which goes to the heart of both of our complaints against the system; it is inconsistent when it comes to justice and the letter of the law when it comes to people of color.
Now, I completely agree with how the laws and punishments for breaking these laws are not applied equally. It's wrong and needs to change.  Chances are they won't change. At least not in our lifetime.  I'll say it again, you're right, this is not happening only in the State of Florida, but across the entire country.  Question is, how do we deal with the fact that the laws and society say that it's okay for a non black person to shoot unarmed, young black men who are minding their own business?

^^^ I'm not going to get into the Troy Davis thing with you, other than to say it's completely inappropriate to compare him to the situations that has happened in a Florida. I agree that these types of events are happening all across the country.  However, Florida has recently been the point of reference in these type of cases because of the national attention it has received.  Yes, this is a F**k Florida, as well as a F**k the system moment.  Despite the stench, they continue to piss on our heads and sh*t on our porches.  Then tell us it's raining and we shouldn't have had porches to begin with.

Again, please stop using TAD as an example of justice not being served, because it was. I was out there that night as well as hundreds of other witnesses.

Man, you CAN NOT complain about a system that doesn't work on ONE hand, and say justice was served with Georgia executing a man where 7 of the 9 witnesses against him RECANTED THEIR TESTIMONY.

THAT sir, is REASONABLE DOUBT.

There WAS NO REASONABLE DOUBT here though.

The thing connecting BOTH cases however, is the INJUSTICE done to a person of color.

Agree with the verdict in either case if you want; BOTH were examples of justice NOT being served equally.  :nono2:
Like I said, I was there in that parking lot and witnessed when Troy Davis killed that police officer. I don't know or even care why those 7 witnesses recanted their original testimonies. I know what I saw.  Heck, the police knew who they were looking for with minutes of the detectives arrival on the scene. Stop believing everything the media portrays as the truth.  One of the big issues Troy's lawyer was raising at the time was the officer didn't identify himself as an officer, which would made sense had Troy not stood over the officer while he on his back and shot him a second time at point blank range. Twenty years later, they want to say he didn't do it at all. I digress.  We do agree about the real injustice blacks face in this country. Let's focus on that.
