As far as your question about Malcolm X’s quote: well, people during that time chose to latch on to “I Have A Dream” instead(which there is nothing wrong with).

There is no peace when there is no Justice. And sometimes, peace can only be achieved in the aftermath of war.
Peace was disrupted by injustice.  The rioting, looting and protesting are just the results, not the disruption.  Peace and justice are opposite sides of the same coin, like law & order.  You can’t have one without the other.

Okay then how many of you Onnidan posters, besides neymar, have been out in the streets rioting and looting, or plan to go, on behalf of justice for George Floyd or anybody else for that matter?

Rodney King.  Riot? Yes.  Looting?  No.  I don’t steal.  I believe a more aggressive and strategic plan should be pursued.
Could you tell us what was actually changed by the riots?  Why should white folks care if you riot, loot and burn your own area?
I guess you missed the last sentence of my response to you, which is the actual gist of my sentiments.  With that said, rioting isn’t enough. Since this is a war, which no one is really disputing, other tactics need to be pursued. Everything should be on the table.  The enemies of our enemy have given us a blueprint and an array of tactics that could be utilized... some of which have been effective.  I’m not going to spell them out in a public forum.
I guess I missed it because you led with "Rodney King" as if to point out the riots in 1992 made major changes.  I was distracted by that the same way the current rioting and looting will distract from the reason they are protesting in the first place IMHO.
I answered the question you posed to me, then I offered additional commentary.  How is that distracting?  Believe me, that was not my intention. Now, I have a question for you and anyone else who have served:  What does it mean to kneel before an enemy at war with you?
My thought was you indicated you marched in the 1992 riots, is that correct or not?  So I asked you those questions concerning the 1992 riots, not present day.  I have never advocated kneeling before anyone.  I am for protests just not reckless rioting and looting.  I am a former military officer who learned the differences between tactics (checkers) and strategy (chess).  I also learned that every mission has a set of goals it needs to accomplish.  Thus my question, what is the end game?
thank you for sharing your experience.  To answer your question and the question of the actual thread, peace is the end game... by any means necessary.

But are you talking about a conventional war? Or, are you speaking or war in a metaphorical sense, or a ideological war or a war against White Supremacy. As you have already indicated, we are not a war against all White people and I don't think we are at war against the government of the United Stats. When Kaepernick kneels, he is not just kneeling before his enemies. The kneeling is a symbolic gesture that expresses a grievance and a invitation to other like minded people to join him in addressing the grievance.

With all due respect DAW1912, your hyperbolic rhetoric carries the very real potential of causing other Black people to die unnecessarily. So, no sir, I cannot condone your everything on the table approach.
First, I want to thank you for addressing my point of view with constructive dialogue.
1) conventional war:  no, I am not suggesting conventional war.  Unconventional? I’m open to that. I’d like to see a war on all fronts.  Hit them in their pockets as well as in anyway that will make them feel the pain we feel and have felt since we met them.  We will NOT defeat them in a hand to hand confrontation.
2) Our enemies are White Supremacy, the system and people who support it.  No need to provide much commentary on this point.  If you are black or a POC, it’s self explanatory.  The world system/government is rooted in White Supremacy, here and around the world, and it is the enemy of all people of color.
3) Protesting, like diplomacy, has its place, and is an effective tool to keep the peace.  It’s not effective, however, when all sides of the equation are not committed to peace and are not listening each other.  We have been through a lot in this country. And yes, we have made some significant strides.  However, we haven’t  made progress when it comes to the most import issue:  the value of a black life.   How does society at large value lives?
1)White people
2) Animals
3) Vegetation
4) POC
5)Black People

4) Maybe I’m being hyperbolic, but it certainly feels like a war, considering that I t’s open season on black people by the police and even private citizens.  I don’t know how to view this any other way than a war.  I do not want to see our black brothers and sisters die over BS, and doing something stupid.  Regardless of the consequences, though, it is never a bad thing to stand up for and to defend yourself.  Rioting by itself accomplishes nothing.

Protests won’t work in this situation. It’s a waste of time. Fight or flight.  There is no grey area.   Fight or flight.  Either option would be positive.  Advance or retreat.

Hey, I know. March.  Kneel. Or fight!

12
I hope people realize these acts for what they are: acts of war and aggression.  Our move.  I know.  Let’s march, sit, kneel and beg for mercy.

One of these groups is an ally.

I know my views will be in a minority here, so I’ll just say what I have to say and let the chips fall however they fall.

I find it amazing that we have bought into the narrative that rioting and looting don’t work when that’s exactly how our enemy conquered the damn world. They burned down villages, bombed countries into the Stone Age and looted them for their resources.  Think about that.

With that said, I do not and will never condone black people burning down black businesses or the businesses of our allies.  That’s stupid!  Our enemy is White Supremacy and the system and people who support it. That is who should be targeted.  Example: burning down the police precinct is fair game, so is any other structure that symbolizes the system we are raging against.  A war is being prosecuted against us.  Marching is not a good strategy when a war is being waged against you.  Kneeling, well, that amounts to nothing more than surrendering... conceding defeat.

You cannot protest a war that is being waged against you.  The people you are trying to reach with a protest are unreachable.  Not all white people subscribe to the ideology of White Supremacy, the enemy of world peace, and there are people of all races who subscribe to this stupid ideology.  Old Spook is a prime example.
Protest is what you do before a war, it’s not supposed to be a tactic of defense. Martin L King was murdered by these animals, and he never burned or looted one business.  In my opinion, Marching and kneeling is akin to begging massa to stop being mean to us.  Stand up, fight your enemy and stop being scared of the consequences for standing up for ourselves.  They’re killing us regardless.  When are we finally going to say enough and stop responding in our usual way thinking the result will be different?  These people are at war with us.  Act like it.
