Morehouse College is facing criticism over its recent decision to require students to live on campus for at least three years. The change would require sophomores and juniors to pay the historically black college an additional $13,000 in mandatory room and board fees, in addition to the $26,700 the students already pay per year in tuition. An online petition is calling for the college's president, John Wilson, to be fired. A spokeswoman for the college told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the change was not related to finances but was an attempt to encourage more student interaction, which she said is critical to the "Morehouse mystique."

"Say What?"

Encouraging interaction?!?!! Sorry, I smell bull excrement to the high heavens!

There are no drag queens walking around at the "House". Such a character or charaters would get their "a...kicked, in a minute.  From my all conference center uncle's time, through my younger brother and son, generation after generation, we have come to expect this. If the navy ROTC boys don't take them down, the true thugs on campus will.

That is just what the ACLU as well as all news outlets as well as the  LGBTQ community here in Atlanta would need to see (or hear) in order for MH to be placed right dead in the middle of not only a nationally televised lawsuit but also a public tar and feathering, which would further tarnish MH's brand. Any issues must be dealt with carefully with nonviolence, empathy, and strategically.

If they got turned off by the sight of gay people on campus, that is probably the college they need to attend. A truly secure straight male is only concerned with the quantity and the quality of the vagina, while considering the competition from other straight males their biggest threat.  A gay male should have very little influence on his vagina potential. No need wasting time getting upset over something that has no impact on you.

Vagina potential....*SMH*  Cap the bear NEVER lets me down!  :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Will see if I can slide on through since it is basically in my back yard, like 20 minute drive from Decatur.

I think most of us Wildcat Alumni know about how the coach came into the position and the time frame in which he came in and therefore we are more than happy to cut the man some slack with this year. I look forward to bigger and better in due season and yes I agree it is hard to ride the wave on out however you have to focus on the goal as well as do what we can to help facilitate the change we want to see.

They already look better than they have in the past - even with the losing record.

I have no qualms about this coach or this season.  I thank Coach Porter for taking on the job.

I was at the game and noticed the commotion.  At least three students were escorted out of the stadium by campus police.

Shameful   Then again....I am not surprised at all as they have a long standing history of this type of behavior.  :tiptoe:

I was reacting in the moment and I posted while reacting....a bad combo that I am working on.   Given all that the team and coach have been through they actually outperformed the 1st half which is actually a peek into the future.  We just have to go through the growing pains.

I see the bigger picture clearly now.

Thoughts on the game:  We hired the coach recently and players are just really getting to know and trust each other.  We outperformed in the first half and came back to Earth the 2nd half. We will get better over time.

I guess the dang defense went home at halftime and offense can't hold on to the ball let alone move it.  :(
