he did say that Ennis Whatley was the best! and I agree as I had to guard him in elementary and high school.

Ennis Whatley used to run at an outdoor court I used to play at outside of Baltimore right next to Thurgood Marshall Airport during the 90's (Sawmill Park, the fellas called it Dorsey, since its located on Dorsey Rd.) I remember one day they made me guard him. All he did was stay outside and drop 25-30 footers like water while I was trying my best to keep a hand in his face...

To be honest, had you guys not brought it up, it would not even registered on my radar.

I am too danged busy to even paying attention. I only watch TV for news and sports anyway, reality shows suck, network TV ain't much better and cable really ain't all that...

But God Bless them in their nuptials...

I knew I wanted to go to college as soon as I understood what sports were. When I would watch college football or basketball on TV at age 5 or 6 or 7, I would imagine I was the star running back carrying the team or the bad-arsed point guard taking the opponent to school (memories of John Lucas at Maryland)...

Sports was the thing that got me interested in higher education, and since I began my academic career with straight A's through the end of fourth grade, a lot of my teachers in elementary school would tell me I was a smart lil fella, so I internalized their words and tried hard to continue to kick but in the classroom. Once high school hit, I kinda sloughed off a lil on the academic side, but I still made sure I did well enough to get into a four-year college or university in-state.

I wound up choosing a community college partially to continue my athletic career, and I was also sorta afraid to blow the loot my folks were gonna try to shell out to go away to school. Anyway, I am glad I chose the route I did. Saved a bunch of dough, and transferred nice and easily to Bowie. No regrets whatsoever.

I used to drink mainly Deer Park Water, but to save a lil scratch, the wife and I use the brita filter. The water tastes pretty good with the filter. Without it, it's kinda nasty.

Where is OS 3/5?

Is that like "Andre 3000?"

That is the perfect nickname for O.S.....

I'm no expert on Greek Organizations, but with my lowly Tuskegee education and a meager 88 percentile results on college entrance exams, I do know that graduate chapters isn't just for those in graduate programs.

All that is required to gain membership into an alumni (also commonly known as grad chapters) chapter (academically) is to have earned a bachelor's degree. Graduate school has nothing to do with membership into an Alumni Chapter.

Just inspiring and beautiful.

Yup inspired me to pledge Que.   :thefan: :tiptoe:
Why join a copy off the master plan.  :lmao:

Man I wasn't even trippin over that.

Shoot, I am used to Omegas talking junk , but its all in fun. Shoot on our yard, we've historically gotten along well with them. It's a mutual respect thing. They beat us in a step show, okay, we turn right around and beat them. We beat them in a combined college/alumni basketball game between chapters and, well, I personally have never lost to the Omegas the few times I've played against them (as late as 2002), but hey, it's competition. It's all love.

I always come thru to their grill and chill session at homecoming, hang out with their brothers from the era we all pledged, talk mess laugh and trip out....It's all good.

The Bros. put it down...What else is new?

Business as usual...

Why on the anniversary of the death of one of our greatest brothers do I open an email from the listserve  soliciting for a Gold blazer for the memorial dedication weekend?

  :tiptoe:

I can kinda see your point. But I'm not trippin' one way or the other brah...It is what it is....

I think posters on this board say over the age of fifty can tell you a lot of change has occured since the late 60's. In many parts of this country apartied was the rule of law.

Basically.

And no, his living and his service to people in this country was NOT in vain..At all.

Would he be happy with a lot of stuff we've let fall through the crack? Heck no, I agree. But I do not agree that that man's service was in vain. Far from the truth.
