Overall records?

Attached is the link. Overall doesn't really matter because MEAC is a 1 bid league

https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/standings/_/group/16

Overall records count some.  So do quality wins.  The MEAC is lacking in quality wins.

don't really matter for meac teams.  barring a "miracle", the meac tournament champion ain't going nowhere in march madness.  we've only won "3" first round games in our entire 40 year history and have "never" won a 2nd round game.

so what good does our overall record do?  might get us a seed or two higher, but the outcome would be the same.  i mean, let's be real.  we ain't gone advance very far in the postseason, period.  history has shown that the best we can do is win a 1st round game once in a blue moon and that's all...

They should stop using those sellouts from Greensboro jerseys. This should be for HBCUs that love each other like family.

i hardly ever agree with you, but this time i do.  i agree, we are "sellouts" and i hate that we've turned our backs on our fellow hbcu's.  of course i'm a "ride or die" aggie, but i despise the decision to join the big south...

I thought it was supposed to be 17 weeks but 16 games
am I wrong?

nope, the proposal is calling for "17 games" and "3 preseason games"...

they should reduce the preseason to only 2 games instead of 4 and a 17 game regular season sounds "brutal"...

The color(ed) commentator from last night was King McClure.  He played at Baylor last year.  He talked about how intimidating it was for him to play at Phog Allen Fieldhouse at Kansas.  But he said the atmosphere at Corbett was like games when he was in high school. WTF??  Emmit Smith said the same thing a few years ago about the Bayou Classic.  These N-words who would not even consider attending an HBCU need to stay away from our games.  I have been to many high school games (including Dudley vs. Ben L. Smith and Dudley vs. Hillside) they are never as loud and crazy as it gets at a rivalry HBCU game like NCCU vs. A&T.

I've been to high school games that were louder than Aggie-Eagle.

If Emmett was talking about the fans he might have had a point.  He'd been wrong about the bands.  Those white people lose their dam minds at football games.

They need to go to a WSSU home game. It doesn't matter who we play, it is live.

Y'all play in a shoebox.

dang, wca.  that's cold...  :snicker :lmao:

We got our a-- handed to us on a plater.  That weaving out front was of no help upon putting the ball in the paint and those trees handed it back...Just seemed we were out of sorts and unable to play this game.  Coach throwing players under the bus while he was above it????  No, it was him too.   That interim did a good job of coaching last night.  The commentator for the game should never work another MEAC contest EVER.  Go and do it at Kansas or wherever he came from.  Worst commentating I have ever heard.   You want to put the conference down on national tv.

totally agree about the commentator, he did a "horrible" job...

i dunno.  when berry was our oc years ago, he took a lot of heavy criticism from our fans.  but i'm happy that he landed on his feet and given an opportunity to call his own shots.  i would've liked to have seen alonzo lee get a similar opportunity as a head coach at another hbcu...

No pride we made an offer, WSSU declined and made a counter offer. We declined.

For 2000, we needed a home game for Sept 5th.

Our next opening is 2022, 2023 and 2024. Might wanna get on the phone and tell your AD

We already have Elon on board for 23 and 24

Just outta curiosity,,,,,,,,what were the terms A&T offered WSSU to come to A&T, as opposed to the terms WSSU accepted from NCCU to go to NCCU?

We offered 60K to play us in Greensboro. You have to remember it was a different AD then as well

So, NCCU is paying WSSU more than 60K to play them in Durham?

The Rams will get $40,000 plus incentives based on ticket sales.

“We will get a block of tickets to sell here on our campus and there’s an incentive in the contract based on how many tickets we sell,” Walker said. “We want to make sure our fans have a chance to go to the game.”

https://www.journalnow.com/sports/wssu/wssu-n-c-central-will-play-football-in/article_c7cc054b-3237-5565-9286-26b88c776972.html

Can't exactly compare the two.  NCCU's stadium has a listed capacity of 10,000, A&T's stadium has a listed capacity of 21,500.  So A&T stands to make a lot more off of a game with WSSU than NCCU.

Honest question, did Norfolk State pay ECSU the same amount of money they pay VA State?

Your question about ECSU and VA State is so far over those dogs’ heads they cannot comprehend it.

Nah we get it. But like it has been said time and time again, WSSU has no leverage in the situation. Things are great in Greensboro.

Things might be great for you all in Greensboro, but at the end of the day money talks.  Last time WSSU played at A&T the stated attendance was a sellout at 21,500.  Here are the numbers of the other home games against non FCS schools you all have hosted since you lasted hosted WSSU in 2010.

2011 VUL – 11,659
2012 WVSU – 7,084
2012 VUL – 10,852
2013 VUL – 21,500 (HC)
2014 Chowan – 13,184
2015 Shaw – 13,828
2016 St Augs – 11,381
2017 Mars Hill – 12,827

As you see, outside of when you hosted VUL for homecoming, your non FCS games aren't coming close to a sellout.

Both schools are on different trajectories, and the game doesn't benefit either team from a D2 Playoff or Celebration Bowl perspective.  But you are lying to yourself if you believe A&T couldn't use a guaranteed sellout, especially knowing that they will charge near homecoming game prices for tickets.

what you don't realize is that we "net" a much larger profit by playing fbs money games than playing wssu at home, even if we didn't pay them "anything".  so we have "zero" incentive to play them on their terms.  we're making far more money off of ecu and unc charlotte by playing them at their place and at the same time "raising" our profile by kicking their azzzes!

money (home sellout) is not an incentive for us to play wssu because we make waaaaaaaaaaaay more money by playing fbs games.  as the professor truthfully stated, the rams have "zero" leverage on us.  we don't need them at all, but they need us.

we've moved on.  its "our terms" or no terms at all, period.  and we're quite content with no terms at all...

Y'all play around 3 out of conference games a year, so are they all against FBS schools for paychecks??????  You know that answer is no.

So when it comes to games you host what out of conference opponent can you bring to your stadium that will be a sellout?

it don't matter, we ain't got to split our gate with any ooc team we schedule to play at aggie stadium and the only teams we sign a "home-n-home" deal with are fcs teams, not any d2 teams...

While not accepting this as truth, it's the FIRST time an Aggie against playing has said something logical about it.

oh its true.  we usually make about $300k or so when we play fbs games in state.  whereas we only profit "after expenses" less than $200k when we sellout aggie stadium according to our former ad...
