Nothing justifies what he did. It wasn't even remotely a situation where he missed a close strike. Both strike calls were horrible and intentional.
exactly!  That umpire was on some BS.

I played little league with a few kids who would have stomped a mud hole in that umpire.
In Savannah, an umpire was shot at a rec game last year for pulling the crap this umpire pulled.  People lose their minds behind a perceived act of cheating.  So imagine how they would react to blatant cheating?
.

Cheating would imply that the umpire was intentionally favoring the other team. The ump in the MVSU game wasn't cheating. He was trying to get revenge for how the batter reacted on the previous pitch.
Great point, but it doesn't make it any less egregious.

Oh, it was a horrific call and compromised the integrity of the game for sure. Wasn't trying lessen the ump's actions.

I seriously doubt the first one was intentional unless the batter had been previously giving him a hard time.  Like in every profession there are folks who overreact to criticism.

I don't believe in moral victories either. We had our chances despite having 3 key players/starters missing. The CIAA has hosted and the last time I recall us hosting we laid an egg. I think the two week layoff doesn't help.  However I think the tournament is later next year so it shouldn't be an issue. I was hoping our end of the season run would have gotten us out of the 8th seed.

AS for IUP they are good but I figured our style of play would cause them problems.  That's why I hate the 20 team didn't get a shot at them. I meant to watch them play West Liberty tonight but got distracted.  Don't know who won.

Union WAS in there, then laid a big egg the 2nd half.

Too many turnovers, and at critical junctures.  Though we don't normally shoot free throws very well, we hardly got to the line.  Love the guts showed by these guys.

I can relate to what happened, though I have only done it once it my career.  It was only a recreation game.  I wouldn't do it in school or semi-pro ball no matter what. He should be suspended.

That said, there is an "art" to arguing with umpires, especially the plate ump.  Kid violated the un-written rule of don't show up the ump.

Good season!  Only one "bad" loss.  Great recovery after that late season "slump."

Good way to return.  Looks like they are basically replacing Chowan on the conference schedule.

You are correct sir!  The glory days when we had THREE teams in on the regular.  Lost South Carolina-Spartanburg(Upstate) in the first round.
