Did y'all see that list of transfers that Benedict is bringing in? No more easy homecoming wins for members of the SIAC if you schedule Benedict. :brickwall:

Man, Benedict is loading up. I agree with you. They won't be an easy opponent with all of that talent coming in.

This is a lateral coonin move, because Clay Travis and the boys are just as bad. Get ready for more ramped up right wing political talking point from Travis.

What are the implications of moving to Division II.

Mostly a huge loss of scholarships.

East Carolina University cuts four sports due to coronavirus

ECU is also taking measures to reduce an estimated $4.9 million deficit the athletics department faces. The plan includes cuts to operations within athletics, regional scheduling and traveling for select sports, a limit on summer school for student-athletes, and suspending all professional development/conferences for a minimum of one year.

It must be $4.9 mil over time, because I can't see them spending that amount on non-revenue sports.

Update...

Trace Young picks Alabama State over the six HBCUs on his list
https://hbcugameday.com/2020/05/12/transfer-trace-young-headed-to-alabama-state/

That had to have happened only because Mo Williams became the Hornets coach. They weren't on Young's list "publicly." LOL

this sounds like "sour grapes" to me on the part of zion's former marketing representative...

I agree with you on that. But now Duke needs to be looking over their shoulder, because an investigation is sure to come.

i dunno, maybe i'm wrong.  but i don't think folk flock to a tournament in order to gamble their money away, especially when hotel, gas, and restaurant costs are higher.  and again, maybe i'm wrong but i thought folk flock to the tournament for the parties and concerts...

Casinos are for more than gambling, they are also for parties and concerts.

not nearly to the extent that ciaa tournament go'ers are use to.  most ciaa folk know their way around charlotte, but don't know their way around baltimore.  baltimore is not the kind of city to go "wandering" around at night if you don't know where you're going.

and a word to the wise, do not trust your "gps" at night in baltimore unless you know where you're going.  just being real...

Wise words. You might end up in a real life episode of "The Wire."

Sports Forum / Re: Chowan FOOTBALL
« on: March 10, 2020, 07:19:09 AM »
So someone explain to me how chowan university football got players going to a HBCU combine they not a hbcu? Like is being in ciaa all you gotta do to consider a hbcu? Not begin funny  but someone explain this?

It's obvious someone didn't do their research. Just because you are associated with an HBCU conference, does not make you an HBCU.
