Politics / Re: OMG NO! Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Dies At 87
« on: Yesterday at 10:37:40 PM »
I certainly take no pleasure nor am I trying to provoke, but Neymar is right to a point.

The Democrats need to FOCUS like a laser when they have any power. Asking Justice Ginsburg to retire would have been that laser focus they needed.

If Biden is elected, he needs to forgo all that pom & circumstance and get to work writing EO's reversing ALL the crap that djt wrote. If the Congress is also in our favor, they got 2 years to get this country back on track before the mid-terms.  They need to be working extra hours like the country life depends on it.....because it does.

Exactly!
The Democrats are always playing checkers when the Republicans re playing chess. They need to understand that for the Republicans this is all about POWER, while the Democrats are always concerned with GOVERNING.The country is so polaraized now, the Democratic approach doesn't work, for now. They need to employ much of the Republican tactics.

Aja is probably playing the best right now, but there's a number of players who could be "the face of the league".

Keep in mind, this is what they are dealing with in my home town. They've been dealing with a corrupt police / sheriff department there, since I was a child. This shooting didn't happen in a vacuum................................

They don't even respect the mayor. And she's doing a GREAT job!

It was just a matter of time before this started to happen. Not surprised it happened in Compton, as corrupt as those sheriff deputies are there.

Yesterday morning when I left my apt to work out, it was overcast from the smoke and ashes in the air, and the sun was red.

I never got a chance to read "Before the Mayflower". However, I DID read "From Slavery To Freedom", by John Hope Franklin. I assume they're comparable.

That was great, and he's right. Until the majority of people in America want this racism and discrimination to end, it won't end.

Just went down to San Diego this past weekend and passed through UCSD on the way. I've also visited the campus a couple of years ago for training workshop. It's a beautiful campus. But I think UCSD suffers from what the whole of San Diego County suffers from.....................................not much to offer in terms of community for Black people, not just Black students. Every time I go down there I really enjoy the city. It's beautiful, and the weather is perfect. But I'd never live there.

You're right about San Diego. Not much 'spice' there. White people love it there. ::)  My roommate from my time at UCSD is a San Diego native. She now lives in Los Angeles. The only incentive to visit her hometown is to see her mother.

Spice can be found there courtesy of the San Diego HBCU group: https://hbcualumnisandiego.org/

...............and even that group isn't very active.

I'm confused. Wasn't she touting how great her marriage was just a year or two ago....................................not to mention how she'd introduced Sherri Shepherd to HER last husband?

I guess I could get frustrated about Herschel Walker and his "Trump is not racist", but I actually just feel sorry for him. He's just not a very astute person.

....... yeah, the latimes has it about right. The Dems put on a pretty good show last week. The Repugnants are DESPERATELY trying to replicate it, but with more repulsive rhetoric.

Btw, klg, thanks for posting links to stories by the latimes. That paper doesn’t seemingly receive as many accolades as the NYT or WashPo, but, editorially, it is equal in quality to those two papers.

It most definitely is. The LA Times just suffers from the PERCEPTION from the old days that it's not a serious paper. But, as you said it's just as good as the two standard bearers in my opinion.

Went to the dentist today, and they thanked me for always brushing my teeth and coming with a clean mouth for each visit. I was puzzled and asked, 'don't everybody do that?'  Their answer was resounding no and they went on to tell stories of dragging Whoppers and Big Macs out of people's teeth. The tecnician said that people assume it is the dentist job to do that for you.  I view this as being  the same as washing your a$$ before the doctor puts his face up in your smoldering stuff. Sorry but I could not resist painting that picture.  ;D

Funny thing is............................I've always thought the same thing. Why would you go to the dentist office with an unbrushed and unflossed mouth?

So, I watched the second episode tonight. Can't say that I really liked it. Too many plot holes and unexplained stuff. I'm gonna keep watching though.........................................................
