That kid made me sick. There was nothing a DII school could do to stop him. They also had another running back and a QB that was scary.

The CIAA has not been the same without them.

We should have handled a guy, who in part, took us to a National Championship Game much better than we did. Surely we didn't expect to be on top forever. Winning comes in cycles, but good coaches are rare. There is know question we did this man wrong. Now he has to spend money to clear his name. If he don't, he may never again get another head coaching job.

One thing is for sure I will expend every dime I got to protect my name and reputation.

I also agree with you.

Sometimes we have to reminded that we have enemies. It hard to see that in sports when they have all those bright lights pointed at us.

Agreed with everyone here.  Liberty is the worst, and I seriously question any black or Latinx student who goes there.

I’m glad they’ve seen the light, well somewhat.   I think the young lady is still a bit blinded.

Many of our young people are blinded by the bright lights they have to offer. Its later in life when the lights go out that they see the real light.

That is his right.  But if I can knell before Christ and knell at the graves of fallen soldiers i sure can knell during the national anthem

That's because you won't stand for anything.

I bet you still consider yourself three-fifths a person. That's what that song and flag represents. I'm sure you would have stood and moved to the back of the bus. If you knew your American history you wouldn't be making negative statements about our people that's fighting for our fair rights. It is possible to love American and not love the raciest founding fathers and their resist symbols and songs.

Sports Forum / Re: NCCU Releases 5 Year (2020-2025) Strategic Plan
« on: August 03, 2020, 09:26:53 AM »
This release is perfect timing for them, and shows great leadership. The only thing that's missing is a plan to get rid of that ugly red football helmet.

Go birds!

What about facility upgrades???  IMO, facility upgrades should have been included in Goal 3. Financial Responsibility, but overall it is a good plan.

Maybe facility upgrades are a longer goal. Five years is not that long of a time period to have found raisers for decent facilities. But you are right about them at least thinking about getting that process started.

I never did think that Boulware got treated fairly. We was not winning like we had been so they were looking for a way to make a coaching change. WSSU was all in for our return to the CIAA with coach Manor. They did everything possible to satisfy our fans ofter the decision to remain in DII. Bill Hayes and the chancellor gave football everything they needed to win. Budgets started to get cut on Boulware's watch.

SMH

I'm not sure why you are shaking your head.

Because of this arguement. Since we have this desire to only compete against other Black instutions and only have HBCU associations, i am waiting for these visionaries to have HBCU championships in all sports and have HBCUs effectively withdraw from the NCAA.

That way as Ram55 says , we grow and help ourselves
So when your school played aganist Elon and the other PWI's. They magically became hbcus for the day? Using your logic, then why is it okay for PWIs to only play PWIs?  For the life of me I will never understand this assinine way of thinking?

No but your not understanding what i'm saying. If it is so taboo for A&T to be apart of a white athletic confernce , why is it ok for any HBCU to be apart of the NCAA? Aren't they also a white instution. Why not create our own govering body of just HBCUs that benefits HBCUs , since being affliated with a white conference is such an issue
You know what...

You tried.

I didn't read where anyone said we should play only HBCUs... did you? Plenty of PWS play HBCUs, yet they remain in their all white conferences. How many of them are running to join HBCU conferences? So in your words its ok for them to remain white but just take our talent and now our band styles. Leaving us with what?

YAWN.

I read the reviews on Twitter. What they need to do is shrink that darn basketball tournament to EIGHT teams and leave it in Birmingham. At this point, it's just putting lipstick on a pig.

that's all...   ::)

What if the SIAC and the CIAA tournaments was held at the same time (different places) and the winner of each of those two tournaments played in a classic basketball game (HBCU, DII National Championship)? This game could be the week before the NCAA tournament. My post was a little off subject, but your comments got me thinking about the marketing of our two conferences.

Also, seeing what LSU's band is doing these days, it won't be long when they have assimilated our entire culture, with them in control, unless we do something to change OUR mindset. Assimilation and integration are two different things.  It makes it quite easy for LSU to do this with SU being only 10 miles across town and a JSU grad leading its band.

That's been our history with them for many years. Pretty soon they will act like they invented what ya'll (our) bands have been doing for decades. Everywhere they go they take from others and declare supremacy using the stuff created by others. Southern's band is ranked in the top five bands in the country in every poll you can find. You know LSU is wanting to take that from ya'll, just like they have taken our best athletes.

JBROB- He's is just uninformed. Its our job to help that brother along. You give me hope that the true Aggie Pride still exist in Greensboro. Sorry if I disrespected you in some of my earlier posts.

apologies are in order for more aggies than just jbrob.  you cannot paint all aggies with the same brush.  virtually the only thing i've ever agreed with you about was regarding our move to the big south conference, including your insinuation that we're "sellouts".

just like wssu had alums who did not favor wssu moving to the meac, there are also some aggie alums who do not agree with our chancellor's decision to move to the big south conference.  so to paint all aggies with the same brush regarding the big south decision is "inappropriate".

your criticism should be aimed at those who made the decision which are the bot and dr. martin.  the vast majority of aggie alums had "zero" say so regarding this move.  even alums like myself who is an annual a&t donor didn't have any say so regarding leaving the meac.

to this very day, i still have not come to accept the move to a pwc conference.  the closer we get to becoming an official member of the big south conference, the more my enthusiasm for aggie athletics subsides and that's very unfortunate.

i don't want no parts whatsoever of the big south conference and i refuse to directly contribute not even one single nickel of my money to the big south conference.  matter fact, since our announcement to join the big south, i have donated money to both south carolina state and norfolk state just as a small gesture to show my support for my fellow hbcu's.

the big south conference can "kick rocks" for all i care.  that's not my home!  the big south is not where i belong nor is it where a&t belongs...

Oleschoolaggie- Your comments is exactly what I was expecting to hear from you proud Aggies from the start of this debate. Thanks, I really needed to hear you say that. In the past my smack talk about you dogs was just me playing the dozens. However, it is truly troublesome that one of HBCU's flagship schools has decided to stop being a leader in the development of our culture. Up until now, you have been the only Aggie on this forum to express your displeasure to moving to the Big South.

Bluedogs post to start this thread has gotten us to really think and talk about whats happening to HBCUs. Sure, there will be nothing settled with us talking on a forum, but talking will help us understand how we really feel about each other and how our schools are joined at the hips. You Aggies represent the best we have. We all have Aggie Pride. Now I know that at least one Aggie understands your importance to the rest of us. I'm sure there many more.

I said in another thread that I was finished with this subject. So this is all i have to say about it.
Good luck in the big South.
