THAT SCHOOL IN JAwRGUH  that started a football team in 2016.  Looked at roster and it looked like a HBCU team.  Sorry T but getting calls is long gone.   You will be the most penalize team in the your new conference.  I looked the corporate support it has compared to all of the top HBCU and you ask how to they come so far in such a short period.  WELL :tiptoe: :tiptoe: :tiptoe: :tiptoe: :tiptoe: You know the usual stories.

Maynor is happy in Huntsville.   He is competitive and I like that.  He wants to win.  Deon loves the publicity and light it brings to both programs.  Truly, there is no hate, just too A types in the same ring.  AA&MUs is better than that score.  When it started rolling downhill on the first series and continues despite your best efforts of a  good team, the gods just won't get out of the way, while JSU seemed almost perfect- set a coming fire under Maynors behind.  He will recruit the best he can find this year.  He's boiling inside. BOILING! >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

THE MEAC PLAYED SOME DECENT OPPONENTS THIS YEAR.  WON SOME AND LOST SOME.  We are rebuilding our program with the last two recruiting classes.  We will be okay and better in the long run.  Our receivers are dropping too many balls hitting them right in their hands and all these 2 yards forward passes, inability to move in the red zone, reminds me of the Moses Rison years and both current QB's are better than what we had at that time.  We best start recruiting more than NC to improve.  Yes, I believe we have the talented  athletes with a few tweaks on the front will dramatically change the outcome.  There still remains something special about this team. They fight to the end but play down to the opponent.  Major injuries have depleted in areas on both sides of the ball.  It happens inevitably to all teams from the football gods, with this being our year.  We are a better team than our record.  Some RB's deserve more playing time and stop entering in 3rd and 4th qt.
We have a tough schedule remaining of MEAC opponents.  We can't afford wasting scholarships on  PROJECTS, partial or otherwise.  If you do wrong in that area, don't do wrong LONG.  Leave baby hueys on the shelf.

Cornell is a competitor.   He made it personal and Coach Sanders graciously  shook his hand at games end.   I don't think Coach Maynor go that far in comments next time.  I like both of them.  AAMU is a very good team.  It happens to all sometime  when that ball seem to roll downhill and no matter what you do, you can't stop it.  What a nightmare.  THEY ARE MUCH BETTER THAN THAT SCORE.

I don't think the institutions named would stretch to move to another conference.   That is a lot of work having changes with all involved (fans & stakeholders) involving more flesh pressing interactions with outside businesses by administrative  heads in athletics.  Even in the MEAC there are schools who see increased funds only from student fees and local mom and pops enterprises. Salaries are not tied to accomplishments financially but regular payday check pickups whether you do or not. Jobs are not performance based(that's right JOBS not POSITIONS) Don't fault Bethune, FAMU nor A&T for that jump.  It was a business decision yet to be seen.  VSU is prime for a stretch and have the facilities for such a move with natural potential rivals greater than current old time schools.  Howard, Morgan, UMES, Little State (NSU) and NCCU all big games every year.  However, if the leadership and stakeholders want to stay where they are, not seeing the enormous upside potential, so be it.  It would not work.  Collect the checks and walk,  don't run. :tiptoe:  Can't help but notice most of the posters are  non VSU friends.   That is PLEASE don't leave us here.   We tried, but didn't have proper front persons to see it through.  Look what Martin has done for A&T and there are those who besmirch his prior WSSU leadership.   SHAME!!!!!   When Martin left for the UNC General Administration , the ball was dropped and all went back to business as usual because that Engineer saw where it could work through the A+B+C process.  Those handling that move wanted to walk, not run, after his departure to join Erskine Bowles at the Board of Governors in that prestigious position.   Call it like it is.  Martin is one of the highest ranked chancellors in the system and look at his results.         That is what all HBCU's need at this time.

The MEAC is not a weak league.   Three teams moved that produced an ouch, but other teams are moving forward.  I wouldn't say a weak conference at this point   but a conference that has the opportunity to regroup and grow.  Conferences all over the country are repositioning, tweaking and revisiting past moves and additions.  It happens when one is on the move.

We are banged up pretty bad i'm told by those who follow the team closer than myself.   Offensively we are stagnant with the same down and outs which leaves to questions, why not north and south.   Everybody in the league can defense that offense from here on out.   Look, this is not the full team I saw that started camp this summer.  They were in the best sharp I have witnessed at NCCU in the last 50 years.   After the first two games key injuries happened all over the place. We have great potential but heretofore doesn't add up in offensive output this year. A promising year has turned to buzzard luck results.  YES WE ARE YOUNG are young but in need of proven transfers, proven recruits, forget projects who are walking the sidelines with med profiles, having tripped over a blade of grass and out for the season.  The bench needs to strengthen. There is too much talent rightfully injured who we expected to help this season in our offensive output.  You can't point the finger at one of the coaches, but they all have to be evaluated eventually. I still have confidence in the head coach, but these are trying times for us all.

That is the allowable limit of full scholarships at D2.  They played NCCU well, but, were they healthy in the end. WSSU kept, pretty much, the same players throughout the game playing( and they played us well with the support of their fans) and that may be the change (health wise ) for the season in the long run.  I hate to see that happen....  They are not alone.  If WSSU doesn't have a  full limits of scholarships per their division, do you expect your coach to walk on water.  That would be like giving the janitor a mop, broom and trash can, then demand he remodel of the building.   :tiptoe: :tiptoe: Getting a new coach of adequate potential (which i think you have already) will contractually demand a full slate of scholarships, if expected to compete for championships.

There is more happening than the  score.    It is obviously a reveal of injuries within the team.  Coaches get more credit in winning than deserved and all blame when there are loses.   There is more to this picture I truly believe, but     I don't know.   :tiptoe: Winston has good players but they are not deep with 33 full scholarships. If there are major injuries to key players,  teams can go from good to bad, fast.

Mississippians are concerned about their rights and liberties even if it includes death.   Mask up for this game if you go or better yet, check out Youtube tv, ESPN+ which may carry this one.  Unfortunately Mississippi is the poorest state in the union.  Playing a tough schedule has its toll.  We are okay.

That is great when Coach made the appeal for names on the backs of jersey.  Others heard.   I know a few on the board will have a problem with his PROGRESS.  :tiptoe:
