Thxs for the update!! I thought we would have a solid group of receivers returning from last year.. Most were freshman and sophomores.. Wow

Maybe they have some receivers coming in over the summer or maybe the guys that were there last season maybe was injured & did not play. You know how D2 HBCU ball is. “Here today gone tomorrow “! The slot reciever had a pretty good game though. Both QB’s worked the middle of the field nicely. The 1st team QB was very accurate. That was about it.

I watched the spring game and that white QB looked really good Saturday he was first team and 2nd team looked good also. Not impressed with Wide Receivers though.  The RB’s look good #5 & #22. Question is can the OLine get better. Defense will be good from what I saw. They have some talent out there but the Wide Recievers leave a lot to be desired imo.

I attended the game & FVSU actually put up some fight. There DLine DOMINATED our OLine! Our OLine are fat and out of shape. They will be fine after their murderer's row of a schedule early on. Porter is trying to build something and if the administration supports him FVSU can have something to be proud of.

Valley Native I was at that game also Your O-line played well they had Maybe 3 bad plays. Your Wideouts had a ton of drops that would had been big plays...what most fan mistake as bad O-line play is not knowing the type of plays that are being ran. You had holes  all night , but FVSU is a RPO team so some runs will be missed...Your five only block five . FVSU just needs more funding to have the tools to win outside of the SIAC

I don't disagree with you for most part , however we couldn't throw the ball because QB was rattled early and he was shot after that. Also; we couldn't establish any resemblance of a running game to keep West Ga honest.

From my viewpoint our lines of scrimmage (both sides) are not ready to compete with West Ga, Delta St, Valdosta St, Pittsburg St(Ks), Northwest Missouri St, North Alabama and Grand Valley St(Mich).

West Georgia's OL was tall with big butts and FVSU's OL was tall with big butts AND BIG GUTS! Lol The Wildcat DLine fought a good fight but the offense gave them nothing to work with. IMho

I see had offers from a few SEC schools and other FBS schools. Should be a good a get for FVSU!

My question is why not JUCO if he had those offers
I think he has immediate family members that are Wildcat alumni. Besides there is always someone in The League from FVSU ballin out. That is something for young BJ to strive for.

According to Facebook FVSU inks 3 ***star class of 2017 DE BJ Sharpe out of Southwest High Macon Ga!! Big get for the Cats. The foundation is being laid and 1/3 of the big 3 in the SIAC is getting restless and about to wake up from a decade long of sleep and take its rightful place at the top of the SIAC! Coach Porter LIKE THE OLD COACH PORTER is doing work!

Tom Brady runs a 5 flat 40, and Doug Williams was known as pocket because he was not fleet of feet.  The kid can flat out play QB,  They tried to question the level in which he played, but UGA signed quite a few players off his team including the WR.  The word is he is going to Grambling,

That's not accurate . The only player from Macon Co currently on UGA's roster is rising junior no. 3 LB Roquan Smith. The reciever you speak of is a 2018 kid and is a D-1 prospect that's on UGA'S radar.

UGA just signed a 6ft dual threat white QB from Pierce Co, Ga as a preferred walk on. The kid runs a 4.5 40 yd dash.  Gonna be nothing more than a scout team qb for them. If I was a parent or guardian of the Macon Co kid I'd advise him to go to Grambling or Southern if they'll still take him. Go there and attempt to channel your inner "LATE GREAT" Steve "AIR" McNair and call it a day! Like others have stated, if you're good enough the League will find you. Ask Marquette King!!

If he puts up similar numbers at GSU/SU like he did in Ga high school football it's almost guaranteed he will get a Senior Bowl invite and that's all you can ask for.

Not convinced his race is an issue for the Powe 5 big boys, but I believe it's more about his height and weight as the issue. When you're 6 foot tall as a Sr QB in high school you'd BETTER have a young Michael Vick or Johnny Manzel type skill set to get a sniff from the big boy Power 5's. See the little short kid from Bishop Gorman High out in Vegas who just signed with The Ohio State Buckeyes.

There is a lot of talent in Middle Georgia alone.

Exactly,  as high schools from all over Middle Ga and the state will be represented today in this all star game. I know Coach Porter will be like a drunken sailor on a Saturday night at a strip club drooling lol... evaluating these prospects playing on HIS home field today.

Good Coach just gotta recruit talent. Make us happy Feb 1st National Signing Day.

And NO MOTHER TUSKEGEE?? But you put Smouthern on the schedule. LAWD, I can't right now.

that's all...  ???

I get what you're saying about the traditional rival in Tuskegee  but if they can avoid playing Skeegee twice and just face them once in a potential championship game then I am all for it. IF FVSU made it back there. Hopefully Miles can be a money game $$$$ assuming they bring that AWESOME band! FVSU needs to market/advertise that game as such. We all know that PMM would be the main attraction for the casual fans. SO let's take advantage.

Couldn't agree more VG on both accounts. Campbell has got to find a competent OC that guy has wasted a VAST amount of talent over the past few seasons DeMarcus Robinson, Tyrique McGhee, now Kearis Jackson. PORTER was on the sidelines actually conversing and building relationships with people. I use to complain about Coach Schoolfield not recruiting locally. FV won but it wasn't resonating as big as it could have without the local talent.

Dublin, Washington County, Lamar County, you don't really need to go outside middle ga. Recruit locally also ensures the stands will be filled. How much$$$ did it cost Porter to cross the railroad tracks tonight ? Lol. Like Nike just do it and Porter will Git er dunn!! lol. Just stay out of his way FVSU Admin!!
