Gonna be stuck riding shotgun with my boss on a client site in some dump called Hoover Alabama Tomorrow-Wednesday.  Never heard of this town, but it sounds like its named after the bigoted FBI director that spied on King and other Civil rights heroes in the 60's. Why they pick my immigrant ass to do this in the age of MAGA I'll never know.

I cant even protest loudly either because I told them I am open to any engagements out west, and Alabama is considered "west" from Georgia.

If I dont make it remember your boy as a real one.

Ours was yesterday Didnt go.

It seems to be catered to couples, and my girlfriend is 3500 km away in Los Angeles.  Plus I'd prefer not to see people I work with on days I dont have to work.

General Discussion Forum / Re: Lesbians do too much
« on: December 14, 2019, 08:13:09 PM »
This is going to sound ignorant, but I really think most lesbians just want attention.

My ex is hanging around a lesbian now, and I know she isnt and they are just friends, but she keeps trying to mention her around me or whatever trying to get a rise out of me. I really dont care, and you shouldnt let it bother you.

The best thing to do is to have no reaction.

I thought you were drowning in student debt as you love to remind the board.

I'm not one to give stock tips because the world is too volatile a place. My advice would be tackle that debt first.

Next year  could be very volatile with the election.,Brexit and possible change at the Fed chairs position , which all could affect the market. But again its your $$$. :tiptoe:

Student debt is something my generation lives with.

If I didnt invest anything before paying off the loans I'd be 30 years old with NOTHING saved for retirement.

The other con is it would roughly half my Emergency fund. My office has enough free food to where I could survive eating most of my meals there, but the simple impact of rent would be the major issue. I also have a trip to Los Angeles, a pretty expensive place, to visit my girlfriend in early February so I would hope my tax return is in by then to lessen the damage of that

Are you giving her money already?

I buy the few times we have gone out, but thats a power move.

A woman doesnt respect a man who cant afford to wine and dine her. Same way a man doesnt respect a woman who puts out too quickly.  Things a man with blue balls says for 200
I could have sworn in another thread where we talked about you and money you said you don't waste money wining and dining.  Someone once told me is you gonna lie you best have a dayum good memory.

I spoke of not simping, and that remains in effect.

I dont simp.

Que if you feel the need to trick on chicks, or show them your checks for time, then that works for you. Thats not how African men roll, and thats not how I roll.

She actually didnt live for free either. She paid for internet, and the car expenses that came up that we both used occasionally. She also still pays my Amazon prime, Hulu, Netflix accounts. Thats no sugar baby.

When I got to this country I noticed how every day the student loan refunds cleared there would be line around every shoe shop. Thats not my game. Im not gonna pay 300$ for shoes to show off. If I get a woman, I'll get her with my personality and humour, not peacocking in front of other blokes for her.

I usually dress like this to work and around town:

wine and dine
To entertain someone with lavish meals, typically in order to gain their favor in some way, either personally or professionally.

Sounds like you talking out the side of your neck.

Wining and dining isnt peacocking and you know it.

Peacocking is buying a car you cant afford
dressing in clothes you cant afford
and buying a house you cant afford to keep up with the jones.

Dinner isnt that.

Spots on these lines are highly sought after. Many have positioned themselves since high school to get there.

Imagine caring about that in high school more than studying....you could probably test into a school out of that shiite state if you studied more.

For someone making as much in the south as neymar claims to make, he sure sounds like a broke motherf#%@r to me.

Then he says he's going to visit his girlfriend (translation - friend that's a girl). I bet his little pecker will be as dry when he returns as it was when he left.

I live well enough below my means where I could, hypothetically, afford to live off emergency funds while making out my 401k before May.

yes

over your expected lifetime the market will have highs and lows. Whatever you think you're gonna gain with this timing could be / will be wiped out in a single day of a sell off.  Just invest as you normally would and each year increase it as you see fit.

I want to have the 19500 in and growing before the market correction of an election though.

General Discussion Forum / Should I attempt to time the market next year?
« on: December 10, 2019, 08:26:17 PM »
So, as we all know next year is the big 2020....an election year.

Also a year where I am at a point where I have enough in savings to attempt what I would have considered unthinkable in last decade.

I have flirted with the idea of attempting to time the market in an election year. I know timing the market is fool's errand, but hear me out here:

We will be either voting out a president in November, Either by a replacement republican or a new democrat. I see no way in which Trump keeps his job after being impeached in the house.

A new path forward means a boost, even if only temporary, in the markets as investors are inspired by this change.

My plan:

Frontload my 401k so that I am completely maxed out ~ April. From here my money would get settled and have a few months of growth before gaining a substantial amount when November rolls around.  I get the most return out of the year, and sit pretty during the upswing.

The cons to this is for 3/4's of the first 4 months of the year I will be getting ~50 a paycheck(I can only go so far based on company policy towards my 401k). One of the months is not accounted being Feb, where I would get a rather substantial tax return. The other con is it would roughly half my Emergency fund. My office has enough free food to where I could survive eating most of my meals there, but the simple impact of rent would be the major issue. I also have a trip to Los Angeles, a pretty expensive place, to visit my girlfriend in early February so I would hope my tax return is in by then to lessen the damage of that.

Is this an absurd idea?
