I did not Haiti was a modern day apartheid state and a colorism problem. There was a lot to unpack in that article

I knew about the colorism problem in Haiti. From what I understand, colorism is prevalent all over Latin America as well. I have always wondered if they uses the paper bag test.

Just reading the title of this thread, I thought it was going to be about oldsport. Oops. Sorry oldsport. My bad.

I know I am old because just the sight of a teenager gets on my nerves.

I loved Frank's Place...

I loved it also.  The episode about the Capital 'C' Club was my first introduction about the paper bag test.  I think the Southern University Dancing Dolls still use that test.

 :lmao: :lmao:

There are no sellers of Frank’s Place.  The music copy writes are the reason.

However, the last time I checked into it, there was a guy who taped all 22 episodes and would make copies for a price.

A Google search might uncover this person, but you’ll have to weed through quite a bit of crap to find him.

I have seen this seller, but reviews said that the quality was very, very, poor. That is why I have never purchased from him. If we are talking about the same person.

How long was Frank’s Place on the air? I’m guessing a coupla seasons, right?

Ding ding.  And it has not aired in syndication since.  There is an issue with the music copy-writes.  I would love to watch all 22 episodes again.

Frank's Place only aired one season. I would love to purchase it on DVD, but I can't find a seller that I have confidence in. The main thing I liked about Frank's Place is that it did not have that annoying laugh tracks like a lot of comedies of today.

Two of my favorite episodes were "Frank Joins the the Club" (The Capital C club). This episode dealt with color-ism in the Black Community in New Orleans, actually all across America.

My other favorite episode, I don't remember the name of the show, but it starred the late great Rosalind Cash, and it dealt with voodoo.

Can't believe they did not include Frank's Place.

Gil Scott-Heron was the man back in the day. I have many of his albums. But the sad part is, most young people have never heard of him. I have always thought that Tupac Shakur was the "Gil Scott_Heron" of hip hop.

Where were his body guards??

Its Haiti....everybody is incompetent   :lol:Third world.

Well, we have had assassinations here in the United States too.

Where were his body guards??
