Fayetteville State should make the playoffs base on making the CIAA championship game, beating JC Smith in the tournament and Virginia State losing in their first tournament game.

Sports Forum / Are the days of Game day programs gone?
« on: October 18, 2019, 05:00:32 AM »
I've been to a couple of Fayetteville State  and several high school football games and programs are non existence.  At FSU's Homecoming game we didn't have any.  A school official told me to pull up the roster on my smart phone.  I understand it may not be cost effective but for Homecoming you'd think you'd have write ups about the court and welcoming back classes celebrating their reunion.  I like having a hard copy in my hand.  Am I just behind the times?

Sports Forum / Steve McNair's number to be retired by Titans
« on: June 13, 2019, 03:56:38 PM »
I'm interested in hearing Onnidan posters, especially women, take on the Titian's retiring his number.  Are you ok with this?  The way he went out and his indiscretions.  Does that have anything to do with his on field achievements?

Sports Forum / Game Day experience
« on: September 08, 2018, 11:20:11 PM »
Today, while trying to cheer on my Broncos, the gallery of fans sitting around me made it hard to enjoy the game day experience. Everyone was an authority on football and what the coaches and players should’ve done. Seems as though instead of enjoying and cheering everyone thought they were Eddie Robinson. I struggled trying to be positive.  Trying to say the coaches and players have been preparing all week!  I think they have more of a handle on the game then those of us that just show up right before kickoff.  How do y’all handel these game day situations?

I know they have to keep it somewhat cold for the ice rink but last night seemed a little excessive!

Why or why not?

Sports Forum / Many HBCU fans don't know how to cheer at football games
« on: September 13, 2016, 08:49:04 AM »
I witnessed it at Fayetteville State and at last Saturday's  Winston/Catawba game. It seemed at that game they only really cheered when Winston scored a TD. The 3 Rams field goals were politely clapped for. When Winstons  special team made a spectacular play you could've heard crickets chirping. The ball was punted and the cover guy dived head first and swated  the ball back just as it was about to cross the goal line and the second player downed it at the 4 yard line. The Winston crowd was indifferent. What s up with us?
