It's hilarious that he spoke to the rumors about him interviewing at Howard.  It was funny to see posts saying that people weren't sure about his extension at WSSU being legit because he was going to Howard.

The Truth and ciaa1964 (aka the Street Committee) lose all credibility on Onnidan.   :thefan:   :read:

Q: There are a couple of job openings in the MEAC for head coaches. Have any of those schools contacted you?

Answer: I have not been contacted by anybody, but I guess the street committee (the Internet) has put some things out there. But I’m happy here, obviously.

Sports Forum / Gamezone at WSSU
« on: October 17, 2016, 11:05:37 AM »
With the announced Homecoming attendance of 9500, we need a game zone.  While that number couldn't have included everyone, I've never seen so many people around Bowman Gray Stadium.

My older brother parked at KR Williams auditorium and walked to Bowman Gray to the game. Anyone familiar with the WSSU campus knows that KR Williams is the furthest point from the Stadium.  In the opposite direction, people parked and waked from the Citro in Waughtown St.

I know people complained about the $35 ticket price this year, but we need to start collecting more than just parking for the amount of people who around Bowman Gray Stadium at Homecoming.

If people will show up at 3:30 am to get a tailgate space, they'll buy a game ticket to be in the gamezone.

Sports Forum / WSSU at JCSU

Game will be played on the campus of JCSU and not Memorial Stadium.  I think that is the first time since 2004 that WSSU has played on JCSU'S campus.

Get there early because the stadium only has one side like CAU. However, there is not hill like at JCSU on visitors side for seating.

His son passed away last night.

I know Jason and had met his son. Really good kid.

As we are preparing for the start of football season, let's keep Mai and his family in our prayers.

Mai played QB at VUU and has coached at several CIAA schools. He is the current OC at St. Aug.

For a quick football fix, check it out.

Football in Mississippi is crazy.

But in the case of Winston-Salem State University, reduced enrollment was part of a deliberate strategy to improve performance and graduation rates – and a remarkable success story.

WSSU’s freshman retention rate improved from 65% in 2007 to more than 80% by 2012.  And even though enrollment shrank by about 1,000 students, from roughly 6,000 to 5,000, it began producing more graduates both in percentage terms and absolute numbers.

“In 2007 we graduated 824 students. Last May (2014) almost 1,600 students received degrees,” Reaves said as he shared his parting thoughts.2

So even with fewer students, Winston-Salem State produces nearly twice as many graduates.
