They will get beat like a rented mule.
NDSU wanted a destination game for the fans and to play in a NFL stadium...that's the way TSU got the home and home contract

Sports Forum / Re: CAA versus The Big South

The basketball teams in the Big South are totally different than the football teams.

https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/standings/_/group/6
So now A&T basketball team is trying to move up to the FBS level? Because that was one of the many narratives created to justify why A&T abandon the meac.
Bluedog, all D1 basketball is the same there are no subdivisions like there are in football. Duke/Tulane and A&T/Southern compete in the same postseason tourney...

Now is A&T trying align its basketball teams into a "high major" conference like the ACC, SEC? Naw...but I believe that the current A&T leadership sees football in the FBS as an aspirational goal, along with R1 Carnegie status (btw congrats on the R2 designation) and an enrollment exceeding 20k.

Shhh, but with Hampton and the "football schools" leaving, the conference is unstable and on the verge of collapse

I'm waiting on the Powell Anthony or is it Anthony Powell Poll?  It may be the only legitimate Poll that gets it right.
Said nobody!

The 15 year time jump from season 1 to 2 took some adjustment. I just hope n the process of introducing the new story, they tie up the loose ends like what happened to his best friend Seren.

Crying about travel expenses yet they have schools on the schedule located in Alabama and New Jersey.

You do realize that North Alabama and Monmouth come to Greensboro. So we are literally coming out of the field house. And next year North Alabama is in the ASUN and out of the Big South

Is football the only sport you'll play them in?

YES! Monmouth and North Alabama are Football only Members of the Big South...we BEEN telling folks this, but people choose to ignore that to fit a particular argument...

Football is the only sport that will have to travel outside NC, SC, VA to play a conference opponent

Bluedog, the OVC has/IS losing two members, Jacksonville State
and I forget the other one. Thats how Kentucky State ended up
on the schedule [this was a late schedule adjustment] and
apparently, they couldn't find anybody else to fill one of those slots.
I didn't think you could play the same team twice during the regular season
but I think I recall seeing it done before a few years ago. Remember,
a lot of schedules for the fall were already out and complete for 2021.

Austin Peay State is the Tigers biggest rivalry? in the OVC...and
I use that term loosley.  ::)
Anything is possible, I've Seen a league have 2 teams play twice and count each game as half a win/loss so yeah...lol

I mean of course this was bound to happen, no way that DSU could, in the long run, maintain 2 athletic departments

Good to finally get the game.

Good deal for A&T. ::)

BAD deal for WSSU.

At least the trash talk has begun! ;D

Wait...wait...what? A bad deal for WSSU? How? The rams stand to make around $50K from this deal. That's higher then our standard payout for a D2 school. Did you really think it was going to be "home and home"...or you were gonna get half of the gate at A&T.

AAMU and Tuskegee have recently done home-and-home deals and they're hours apart.

For WSSU to be 30 minutes away and have a 20K seat stadium, they are getting ripped off by not having the Aggies return the trip. They could stand to make at least $500K from ticket sales at $25 per ticket.
Is this $500K before or after the city of Winston Taxes that @$$? remember they don't own their stadium and don't get revenue from parking or concessions. WSSU also pays upwards of $3800 per event held at BG and that is a 2012 figure, with yearly increases up to 3%
