Sports Forum / Re: Statement Game: Lee County not holding punches
« on: December 28, 2018, 04:37:37 PM »
There were two things I think played a factor in the outcome of that game....Lee County played 15 games before that game  with St. Frances while St. Frances had only played 7 so I think fatigue eventually sat in for Lee County... Also... before that game St. Frances had not played a game since October whereas Lee County had just won the state a week prior so St. Frances was fresh.... so don’t get it twisted like Lee just trash when they put up 14 on a team that hasn’t been scored on in previous games...

I don't remember anyone saying Lee Co. was trash...They have to be a very good program just to be in position to play this game. And actually St. Frances' last game was a month ago, not October (Nov. 16). They had to play a hastily put together schedule at the last minute because they had just gotten kicked out of their own league.

Ok a month to prepare versus a week only validates my point

So, let’s see how this plays out to some...

We pick up a game vs a D2 school with a perceived stronger Conf SOS & Overall SOS yet some folks still not happy....

Heck, if it works out, why not do a home & home....
But  every conference besides the CIAA has a perceived stronger Conf SOS and Overall SOS.   Since there is no automatic bid then wouldn't how you do against teams in the region be more important????

Not arguing that but I know in my heart that the majority of those regional schools don’t really want to see too many SIAC teams achieve and thrive at the top of the rankings. Thus my assertion to go ahead and play other D2 schools with better overall SOS than our perceived weaker rankings.

You know the chances of a Valdosta, UNA or West Ga doing a home and home is low. Both schools only have a few OOC games to get it done. I just don’t see them willing to travel to our schools on the regular. So for me,my mindset is to say screw them and the horse they rode in on too....

Not entirely true... Albany has had a home and home with Valdosta for years... We've also played West Ga the last 2 or 3 years home and home.. So it can be done. You would think with Coach Slater's relationship with UNA, Tuskegee would play them on the regular...

This guy said ASU's schedule was weak... at that point I stopped listening....Valdosta, Tuskegee, North Greenville,& West Georgia out the gate and our schedule was weak...

I think the perfect mix for the schedule would be 1 CIAA, 1 SAC, 1 GSC, 1 SWAC/MEAC/NAIA and then our 6 SIAC games. That's a balanced and competitive schedule. What y'all think?

That would be an ideal schedule that would allow you to see how you stood in your region. Its hard to get to the playoffs with two loses, so over scheduling should be a concern. I would like to see you guys become an elite DII school again.

Hell you mean " Elite DII School Again".... I didn't know we were dropped from the status of being elite....

This is almost better than the Dave Chappelle Special on NetFlix..... .... But real talk tho.. there are alot of factors that play a role in the DI/DII convo, especially in regards to finances. You gotta look at endowments, state and federal funding, the institutions overall. Some states pour more into higher education than others. Some schools presidents care more about some programs than others... so i don't think it's an issue of division, it's more about what matters the most in the eyes of the institution.

Sports Forum / Re: Albany State Head Football Coach Resigns
« on: March 17, 2017, 01:39:42 PM »
My money is on someone from the other persuasion, which would be catastrophic!!!..... Also, the word around town is the AD was attempting to micro-manage him and was complaining about him not wearing business suits on official school business, but wearing team/coaching warm up gear... petty!!!! But I definitely don't see Coach Kelly leaving his position at Miller Brewery to be a HC.....

Albany State isn't to blame totally for Tuskegee's predicament, but they definitely devalued their word. If I'm Skegee I'm running up the score on them in every sport!

  You Mad?

Why would I be mad? ASU looks bad for giving their word then bringing it back, but you got it...

You sir or ma'am... is delusional...I'm still waiting on a valid explanation on how in the heyal did this become an ASU problem... Why? Because our PLAYERS opted out of playing a pointless game? Hell, I wouldn't have played the game either! Why risk injury to save TU's a--...

I maybe wrong, but I think Albany State's SOS maybe better than Tuskegee's... IJS....All of ASU's losses came against ranked D2 Competition and were decided by 7 points or less...
