Actually they're more like the nerd chasing after the pretty girl in high school.

Haven't seen 1 TSU person come out and advocate for them leaving the OVC. All i see are SWAC and Bloggers begging them to come over

Like i said , TNSU = pretty girl ..... SWAC = Nerd

There are some. Not many, however if you really want to see it go the Tennessee State fan site.

I did. 2 posts. One about future of OVC and one saying they need to go to SWAC. Other than that , site avoids the topic. It's talked about more here

https://tsutigerfans.boards.net/

Which is exactly what I said. It tells you a great deal about the social strata of Tennessee State fans that they are not very visible in the general HBCU sports board talk circuits. In fact, they are not very visible on even the FCS platforms.

Furthermore, we talk more about everything HBCU sports related over here. We are HBCU fanatics. It is the very definition of what a HBCU sports fan does, which is to enter into dialogue about any and all things HBCU sports related, particularly on a HBCU fan forum blog page.

I predict by the end of the season the OVC will be dead. You heard it here first.

It's sad that the State of Tennessee is forcing a school to stay in the soon to be defunct OVC.  One good thing, if they do become the lone school in the OVC, they would be the conference champs in every sports every year.  ;D

The state is NOT forcing Tennessee State University to stay in the Ohio Valley Conference. The state could literally careless.

Similar in some ways to the previously scheduled ACC Notre Dame’s men’s basketball program visit to Howard University in the Burr.

Just for clarification and informational purposes such consulting studies do not advocate one way or the other regarding making a move in reclassifying or staying the courses due to legality issues. They only provide a benefit needs analysis for reclassifying or staying the course in the same classification.

For the most part, this decision is led by an extremely small contingent of individuals either or jointly by a president/chancellor and or a select number of board members, although extremely rare, there are some circumstances that an athletics director/vice president of athletics has a strong sway on such a move.

Lastly, it has very little to do with historical context or current success of an overall athletic program or a specific sports program or the public’s general thoughts on an institution’s financial viability. It generally is based on a select group of individuals as mentioned above and whether they believe it is in the best interest of the institution to make the move or if that group believes it is not. If they believe it does, then they will use the study to justify the move and if they don’t, then they will use the same study to justify not making move.

Take it for what it is worth, nothing more or nothing less. I was asked to post and share this information by one of our posting colleagues and a good friend of mine. With that said, I hope all are doing well during these challenging times. #TakeCare #StayStrong #StaySafe

Sports Forum / Re: SLU announces 2021 football schedule

The Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) is requiring a similar rule for its conference members for the fall 2021 football conference schedule. Not that I agree with the scheduling philosophy, however, with the late announcement of five institutions leaving the Southland Conference, four to the WAC (Abilene Christian, Lamar, Sam Houston State, and Stephen F Austin) and one (Central Arkansas) of the five leaving for the newly constituted football sport participating Atlantic Sun Conference, along with two institutions (Eastern Kentucky and Jacksonville State) leaving from the OVC. The athletic directors and the commissioners of the Southland Conference and OVC suggested this would provide a stronger league scheduling argument for football programs seeking at-large bids to the FCS playoffs versus those institutions from the Missouri Valley Conference, Colonial Athletic Association, and Big Sky Conference. As well as against the partnering of the Atlantic Sun Conference and WAC newly formed FCS conference scheduling arrangement to earn an additional automatic bid which removes one of the current at-large bids to the FCS playoffs. It should be noted that two football programs (Kennesaw State and North Alabama) are leaving the Big South Conference for the Atlantic Sun Conference for the fall season of 2022. This is suppose to give all of the conferences more time to seek conference expansion options.

This was a challenging article to read. This writer made several assumptions that I thought were a reach.
