To be honest calls were missed on both sides.

EXACTLY....Rams were offsides on every kick off until they finally called it in the 3rd quarter.

Branj, congrats on the job. Seems like everyone is in transition now.

TM, Pcola to north Alabama? Yikes. Made that trip before and it gets old quick.

You are so right, 6 hr drive each way weekly...I-65 could be so unforgiving at times.  I had enough after 2 yrs of doing it.  Did some contract work in Fort Walton, and then the wife got a promotion to come back to Bham.  I refuse to commute to HSV again; especially with the gas prices on the rise again.

After living in NC for 30 years, High School, College (NCCU) and 20+ plus years of my professional career, I am moving to the Southwest.  Dallas Texas to be exact!

Does anyone on Onnidan live in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area?

Any good eating spots, places for live music (old school R&B) nice areas to live in?  Will be living in the Galleria area?

Any Help Would Be Greatly Appreciated...!

TUGrad is in the DFW area.

Yes sir, I commuted from Bham to HSV for 3 yrs daily (did 1100 miles/week); then we moved to Pensacola; and I commuted weekly for 2 yrs.  I was worn out.  Now we are back in Bham; and I am having a hard time finding local work  :brickwall:  but I just dont see myself doing the commute thing again...5 yrs of commuting was enough for me.  Having been in the defense industry for the past 12 yrs; I might have to go back up there, but that is last resort at this point.   :dedhorse:

I live in the Monrovia area which is considered party of Madison County. It is one of the fastest growing areas in Huntsville. We are not to far from the city and just close enough outside of it. Madison is not really my cup of tea. To many wanna be uppity blacks and stuck racist white folks.

We've been here since Friday house hunting.  My wife will be working at James Clemens and i'll be over at Boeing so the Madison area was ideal. We've checked out houses in Harvest, Madison, New Market, Monrovia, and some other places. The house that really got us was a spot in Madison off of 72 and Slaughter Road. We're about to get the wheels rolling on that one. My oldest brother lives up in Harvest but  his close calls with tornadoes over the last few years concerns me about that area. Everyone told me to avoid Anderson Hills aka tornado bait at all costs.

Congrats on the move!

I worked at Boeing in Huntsville (Jetplex) for 5+ years (2008-2013).  If you are looking in Madison, that means you will probably be at the Jetplex as well.  I still keep in contact with quite a few former coworkers; I'm sure you will run into them, but let me know if you need some contacts.

Yep. I'll be over at the Jetplex but from what they've been telling me is that the plan is to move to the new Boeing building right over by the Arsenal. Not sure on the timeline though.

Oh ok...I remember before I left the company they moved all of SLS to the new building.  I worked on GMD, apparently that program was staying put at the Jetplex.  If I hadn't been tired of the commute to HSV for work, I would have tried to stay with the company up there. Great company to work for and lots of opportunity to grow....

General Discussion Forum / Paul Quinn thinking outside the box...

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/ncaaf--how-one-small-texas-college-made-money-by-saying-no-to-football-065751785.html

Many of our schools have more than enough land to do something very similar to this (I know in Tuskegee case we do).  You wouldn't have to get rid of football to do it either; and the students could work it just like the Paul Quinn students and get some money for it.  With the new stadium coming in Atlanta in a few years, they might jump at the idea of serving organic products.

This is sad for the fact there will be one less radio personality to push the issues, as MB has done so many times.  Had it not been for black radio coverage on Trayvon Martin, we might not have gotten as much exposure; let alone Jena 6.  You might not like him personally, but he played a huge role in ensure our voices were heard.
