The Lady Bison are really struggling this year. Eagles should win by a dozen or more.

Hope so ... planing to check them out

BTW, if Compughterrating was used to determine the Top 4 teams selected for the upcoming College Football Playoffs (CFP), we would have had the following match-ups:

CFP Matchups
Sugar Bowl - #1 Alabama vs #4 TCU
Rose Bowl - #2 Florida State vs #3 Oregon
Champions - wnner Sugar Bowl vs winner Rose Bowl

likewise, and and just to humor my homie (OSR), the following would be Compughterrating match-up for the "mythical" Black CFP:

Black College
Game 1 - #1 Bethune Cookman (MEAC) vs #4 Southern University (SWAC)
Game 2 - #2 South Carolina State (MEAC) vs #3 Alcorn State (SWAC)
BCFP Champs - winner Game 1 vs winner Game 2

hmmmmmm .................

At any rate, good luck to all with recruiting (especially NCCU).   We'll see you in 2015 and  do this all over again ...

Thanks for the love.  It will take a few to finish mine.  But the playoff bracket would be interesting.

Cool   you know it's serious always but all in fun and mutual respect (for my elders) ... but your sidekick gonna make me cuss him out with his "ignant-butt"  :brickwall: :dedhorse:

At 7-5 I guess you need something to feel good about. Even a make believe poll rankings. Teams should be ranked based on their competitiveness with teams like them... you get the point.

No, I really don't  Your attempt to explain seems more fitting for you and your wssu rams. It sounds like you are saying wssu rams need something to feel good about therefore; OSR's  make believe TRF/OSR poll ranking makes yall feel good. You keep forgetting the other poll (Compughterrating) is not "my" poll ... I've just been posting the results ... funny how you don't feel so good when I post ... wonder why  ::) ... you never explain what's wrong with Compughterrating, you just want to make it about me

And when you say "Teams should be ranked based on their competitiveness with teams like them", what do you mean. Who is "them"? Is them PWIs or HBCU? It is well-documeted in recent history that the competitive gap between D1 HBCUs and D2 HBCUs has increased ... with D1(FCS) HBCUs winning approximately 90 percent of the match-ups. That's a FACT!

Now if you talking competitive with them (being PWIs) on same level ... the fallacy here is OSR is not grading all HBCUs against the same set of PWIs ... so aren't these different tests? And the level of difficulty between the two tests is significant. For analysis, let's say D1(FCS) HBCU takes more difficult AP courses and the D2 HBCU take special education courses ... would you expect any special education student with all A's to be named Valedictorian. So please explain what you mean by "Teams should be ranked based on their competitiveness with teams like them".

Rather than just randomly running your mouth   trying to defend OSR and his poll ... why don't you be a man and give me some hard facts that I can work with. Can you do that?  ::)

My Fall football calendar is wide open next year thus far - might check one of these games out

I think I know what you saying but you kidding right  :o  You saying this now but I can see you having change of heart as the football season begins next year :hugs:   just wont be the same  :kisses:

Baby I am SO serious.   You just don't know.  VG is done.

There is only ONE thing that will change my wide open schedule to include Wildcat football.  If it doesn't change then neither will I.

Don't get me wrong I want them to do well.  I want them to go 10-0 in the conference and win the DII National Championship next year.  They'll just do it without me in attendance.

This is the perfect time to to on my FBS and HBCU football tour.  Catch a SWAC game, a MEAC game, the MCC, head to Jacksonville for the World's largest Cocktail party, head to Doak Campbell stadium .... The possibilities are endless.
Okay, I got you  ;)  just keep your schedule close hold ... we want to make it more difficult for that stalker to track you down next season ...  :snicker

OldSchoolRam quote:

Typo/wrong word notwithstanding don't lose the message.

Hey Bats this is the other reason we started HBCU playoff discussions. As a general rule our folks DON'T care about playing pwcs in the playoffs nor do their people care about playing us except for hoping our band is coming. This is well documented.  You'll see that the complaint about our attendance during 11 and 12 were unfounded.

Truthfully when we played you in the playoffs the attendance paled in comparison to the regular season game.  I know the older Eagles will correct me or opine differently if my recollection is off.

same thing happened to us the first time we went.  2 years of packed to good attendance and we make it and have the 2nd lowest attendance during that period.  The lowest was on a rainy day for a late game against WV State.

OSR, I pulled your quote above from another post by mford talking about TU coach Slater. You losing me on the connections with what you said and that particular thread   what's even more confusing I'm still trying to make the connection with your TRF/OSR Power Rating polls.

I never doubted you and your buddies used to sit around drinking (maybe smoking) talking about an HBCU Playoff system   again, how is your TRF/OSR furthering that cause? Do you think an HBCU PLayoff is realistic in today's environment? What's the latest status of "yall" discussion group? Or Maybe I should ask are these discussions ongoing? When was last time yall met? You say attendance versus pwi is well documented but I might suspect that attendance after Thanksgiving (especially for the northern schools, i.e. MEAC/CIAA should be well-documented also) ... your HBCU playoffs would not start until maybe 2nd weekend in December ... you really think that would work ... yall wasting time if you ask me ....

Now that I think about it  :o you is smoking that wacky or something  .... you want to convince people that your TRF/OSR Rating poll would determine which HBCUs would make the HBCU Playoffs .... So for 2014 your 4 playoff team would all be from D2 (CIAA and SIAC) ... oh I get it... D2 HBCUs are kinda like the SEC dominating the FBS playoff.

According to your TRF/OSR (above), your potential HBCU playoff match-ups would look something like this for 2014:

Game 1: #1 Virginia State (D2) vs #4 Albany State (D2)
Game 2: #2 Winston Salem (D2) vs #3 Tuskegee (D2)
Game 3: Winner Game 1 vs Winner Game 2

PS: Well, at least GUR would be happy with the prospects of getting "her" revenge over Virgina State and wssu being able to claim HBCU's Black College National Championship ::)  what's interesting, yall can win it all, while avoiding those D1 wanabee boys wearing those "big boy pants" ...   did I get it right ...   :snicker

« on: November 25, 2014, 10:27:25 PM »

Saturday was my first time watching a game at NCCU and I must say, that was one of the best game day atmospheres I've been to. The promotional stuff is top notch. I got chills at the beginning of the game and wanted to run on the field and tackle someone. That is until I remembered my age. I really like NCCU's stadium. I think y'all can work with what you have and make upgrades. I wouldn't make it too big, because you lose home field advantage. I love the fact that you are right up on the action.

CU1994
I wish we brought the real Eagle back to fly over the stadium.  You would have LOVED that.
The Eagle was at our previous home game.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Man, that Eagle fly over is awesome  I was expecting/hoping my aggie relative's son would have been able to see that on Sayurday  that would have been perfect day.
