This is why the SWAC should send its regular season champion to the NCAA Tournament. If the conference tournament holds all the weight, just get rid of the regular season. This is so embarrassing and Bush League.

1. structure the “tournament” so that the regular season still holds the weight OR just scrap the tournament.

2. Regular season winner goes.  If there are tie breakers, playoff games instead of coin flips.

I totally agree. Once I found out how much each school and conference receives each win in the NCAA Tournament, it made me realize how asinine it is to give our only bid to a team who "got hot" and won a 4 day tournament.

When the city of Charlotte let the CIAA and QCBOTB walk out the door and replaced with the Big South Tournament that told me everything I needed to know about they felt about predominately black events. If they ever try to get the CIAA back Charlotte I hope the CIAA taxes their arses like they did black folk with hotel rooms, bars, restaurants taxes.

That's what happens when you have so many Black elected officials who all want to PWIs. They don't give a damn about their own Black communities here in Charlotte.

I bet you that business owners don't feel the same way as Decks.

All money ain't good money. It was the promoters, rappers, unlicensed vendors , pop up shops, clubs and unsanctioned events making most of the money. A lot of legit businesses did well and will miss the CIAA. Fact remains the violence was increasing and was starting to cause reputational damage for both sides. It wasn't the CIAA folks who were creating the problems....as usual it was our cuzins who always mess things up whenever black folks try to have something.

I still believe the violence was manufactured, just like that manufactured "riot" in Uptown Charlotte a few years ago after that police shooting.

It is no secret that the city does not care for HBCU and Black events. When the Queen City Battle of the Bands outgrew Memorial Stadium, the city nor the Panthers wanted to help move it to a larger venue. Ebony Magazine approached the city about hosting an event similar to Essence Fest and the city told them No.

I do not think enrollment is a variable. There are several CIAA schools with similar sized enrollments. I only ask that you all take BCU with Talladega for a package deal.

Enrollment isn't a factor. What's a factor is the SIAC is becoming this haven for beleaguered private HBCUs. We just allowing any and everyone in just because they're an HBCU. Not realistically looking at each school in what they bring to the table and how they not only benefit themselves, but the conference as a whole.

NOPE! We're not taking Mother Cookman. She came with the deal with Florida A&M. She's your problem. The inn is closed.

that's all...

Rest assured, the entire SWAC is in favor of giving you all both Florida schools. That will solve the enrollment and competitive concern.

IMO, Colorado only hired him to recruit top recruits,

Yep, especially Black players.

He's just another conduit used by others to drain Black communities of their resources and talent.
If you want to get mad at somebody, you need to get mad at Martin Luther King. He is the one who wanted integration. Integration hurt the black community.

I'm not mad at Deion.  I'm just pointing out the obvious.  Too bad you can't see it.  From your comment above, I guess I should be mad at the NCA&T students for the Greensboro lunch counter sit-in as well.  I'm sure Dr. Martin Luther King didn't envision Black people like Deion Sanders and others using Black folks for their own personal gains, while the scales of justice and economic fairness are still unbalanced. In my book, that's called pimping and not integration. But anyways, IMO, JSU is better off now that he is gone.  Now they can get back to more of the business of focusing on self-preservation through academic achievements than worrying about some loud mouth attention seeking clown who branded himself as being the savior of HBCU football.

After speaking to Black folks in Charlotte who grew up during Segregation, I have a better understanding. They never wanted integration. Most of Uptown Charlotte was a thriving Black community with a Black HS, churches, businesses, etc. After segregation, the city destroyed it all. Those Black kids were thrust into super racist environments with evil school teachers and administrators.  It was a nightmare for them. The Greensboro 4 caused more damage than good.

The hard truth is- most of black money goes in other people's hands.  For every dollar we make we keep less than 4 cents to give to our community. Other groups get 96 cents of every dollar we make

True, but it is a lot more obvious with Black celebrities, especially when they try to project themselves as Black folks savior.
I spent alot of time talking to jsu folk at the CB.  Most were glad prime is gone.

It's true. Aside from the lies and drama, he failed to prepare our team foe both of those games in Atlanta. The first year, he allowed the team to stay out all night and party. Half of them were hung over the next day. This year, his drama with leaving caused huge distractions. I'm thankful he is gone.

TC is going to be a great coach but Prime did him a solid by leaving him name recognition and great facilities.

Great facilities? The upgrades and new additions were paid for in 2019. With the exception of the Walmart contribution towards the new practice field, Deion was not responsible for any facility upgrades at JSU.
Did you get the million from Diddy or is it going to Colorado?

Nope.

Put yourself in the coach’s shoes. You want to recruit player and bring them to a campus that is trashy. They showing them the practice complex.  What happens when the parents come visit the campus if things are not maintained?  How upset would you be?

I question if there was even any trash on the campus. Why didn't he record it?

FACT SHEET: The Biden-Harris Administration’s Historic Investments and Support for Historically Black Colleges and Universities
President Biden’s FY22 budget request for the Department of Education includes a total of $807 million in discretionary funding to HBCUs, an increase of $72 million over last year’s funding level, which will substantially increase key HBCU funding streams to support research, infrastructure, and student support services, amongst other programming.

https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2021/12/17/fact-sheet-the-biden-%E2%81%A0harris-administrations-historic-investments-and-support-for-historically-black-colleges-and-universities/

Key word infrastructure.  I am sure they could have completed the practice track with some of those funds.

So, oldp you want to use those funds to support athletics for a possible coach that does not give a chit about the school he wants to work at.....

This is what it all boils down to with respect to the rhetoric Prime, Uncle Luke and others are spewing. The Biden funds, in part, were to help with the amount of reduced revenue many of our schools saw during Covid. These clowns want a portion of that revenue allocated to athletics, specifically football.
