Title: POST YOUR VOTING EXPERIENCE HERE
Post by: CIAA-FAN on November 06, 2012, 09:54:34 AM
I HAD NO PROBLEMS OR ISSUES AT ALL VOTING IN MADISON COUNTY, ALABAMA THIS MORNING.   GOT TO THE POLL AT 6:30, THEY OPENED AT 7:00  AND I WAS OUT BY 7:40.

CONSIDERING THERE WERE ALREADY 500 FOLKS AHEAD OF ME, THINGS WERE ENTIRELY UNEVENTFUL.  HOW ABOUT AT YOUR LOCATION?

I voted absentee.  No problems.  I'm listening to The Jack Gravely Show this morning.  In the Richmond Metro there are lines in some precincts.

Note:  Make sure you know where to vote.  Don't go to the wrong precinct.  If you do make a mistake and go to the wrong place find out where to go.  Then go vote.

I already told one person off who didn't look at her voter registration card and went to the wrong place.  Now she's mad and saying she's not voting.  She's blaming everyone but herself.  She said the white Republican lady embarrassed her by saying her voter registration card said she was to vote someplace else.  I hope she changes her mind.

I voted early in Buckhead (GA) and my experience was a rather pleasant one.  It didn't take longer than I had expected.  In fact, the line was wrapped around a few times, but it moved swiftly.  I stood for a few hours listening to music on my phone which made the time go by faster, so it seemed.

Got in and out with no problem. Since I live in a Democratic control state I did not have to show ID. Now I can go back and vote again if I choose.

VOTED this morning in the City of Newport News, VA.  It was a GRAND experience.  Got to explain to the volunteers the origin of my last name.  Was in at 0630 and out by 0650.  In addition to voting for the Presidency, Senate, and Congress-3rd District, there were 2-VA Constitutional Amendments on the Ballet.  Not that I didn't understand them, but it would have helped if more information leading up to the Election would have been publicized about them.  Just would have been nice to see where some of our Civic Leaders stood on them.

What state do you live in. I live in PA, no ID and I can't vote twice. At least make a valid argument.

I have first hand experience. I grew up in the heaviest democratic district in the country, I have seen the tricks.

If you believe it is false you are mistaken. Another reason why Voter ID is being upheld through out the country.

There have been studies on this and you are incorrect. Voter ID fraud is not a wide spread issue. You can say it is all you want and you will still be wrong.  :brickwall:

I VOTED IN MARYLAND FOR OVER 20 YEARS AND YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO SIGN NEXT TO YOUR NAME ON THE ROLLS.  I DID HOWEVER HAVE TO SHOW ID (DRIVER LICENSE) TO VOTE IN ALABAMA AND THEN SIGN THE VOTING ROLL.  I HAVE NO OBJECTION TO SHOWING PERSONAL ID IN ORDER TO VOTE.

[edit] Early lifeRose was born in Henderson, North Carolina, the only child[3] of Margaret (née Frazier) and Charles Peete Rose, Sr., tobacco farmers who owned a country store.[4][5] As a child, Rose lived above his parents' store in Henderson and helped out with the family business from age seven.[6] Rose admitted in a Fresh Dialogues interview that as a child his insatiable curiosity was constantly getting him in trouble.[7] A high school basketball star, Rose entered Duke University intending to pursue a degree with a pre-med track, but an internship in the office of Democratic North Carolina Senator B. Everett Jordan got him interested in politics.[8] Rose graduated in 1964 with a bachelor's degree in history. At Duke, he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order fraternity. He earned a Juris Doctor from the Duke University School of Law in 1968.[6] He met his wife, Mary (King), while attending Duke.[3][4]

[edit] CareerAfter his wife was hired by the BBC (in New York), Rose handled some assignments for the BBC on a freelance basis. In 1972, while continuing to work at Bankers Trust, he landed a job as a weekend reporter for WPIX-TV. His break came in 1974, after Bill Moyers hired Rose as managing editor for the PBS series Bill Moyers' International Report. In 1975, Moyers named Rose executive producer of Bill Moyers Journal. Rose soon began appearing on camera. "A Conversation with Jimmy Carter," one installment of Moyers's series U.S.A.: People and Politics, won a 1976 Peabody Award. Rose worked at several networks honing his interview skills until KXAS-TV in Dallas-Fort Worth hired him as program manager and gave him the late-night time slot that would become the Charlie Rose show.

Rose worked for CBS News (1984–1990) as the anchor of CBS News Nightwatch, the network's first late-night news broadcast. The Nightwatch broadcast of Rose's interview with Charles Manson won an Emmy Award in 1987.[4] In 1990, Rose left CBS to serve as anchor of Personalities, a syndicated program produced by Fox Broadcasting Company, but he got out of his contract after six weeks because of the tabloid-style content of the show. Charlie Rose premiered on PBS station Thirteen/WNET on September 30, 1991, and has been nationally syndicated since January 1993. In 1994, Rose moved the show to a studio owned by Bloomberg Television, which allowed for improved satellite interviewing.[9]

Rose was a correspondent for 60 Minutes II[10] from its inception in January 1999 until its cancellation in September 2005, and was later named a correspondent on 60 Minutes.[11]

Rose was a member of the board of directors of Citadel Broadcasting Corporation from 2003 to 2009.[3] In May 2010, Charlie Rose delivered the commencement address at North Carolina State University.

On November 15, 2011, it was announced that Rose would return to CBS to help anchor CBS This Morning, replacing The Early Show, commencing January 9, 2012, along with co-anchors Erica Hill and Gayle King.

[edit] Cameo appearancesRose has appeared as himself in the 1998 film Primary Colors,[12] in a 2000 episode of The Simpsons[13] and in the 2008 movie Elegy.[14] He and his show were also parodied in the Wes Anderson film The Royal Tenenbaums. He also appears as himself in the 2011 George Clooney directed film, The Ides of March.

[edit] Quiet influenceThe New York Times reported that Rose encouraged a discussion between the leaders of NBC and Fox, that led eventually to a mutual reduction in ad hominem attacks between Keith Olbermann and Bill O'Reilly on their respective news programs.[15]

Rose has attended several Bilderberg Group conference meetings, including meetings held in the United States in 2008;[16] Spain in 2010;[17] and Switzerland in 2011.[18]

[edit] Personal lifeRose's twelve-year marriage to Mary Rose (née King) ended in divorce in 1980. Mary is the sister-in-law of Morgan Stanley Chairman John J. Mack. Since 1993, his companion has been socialite and chairman of the New York City Planning Commission and director of the city department of planning Amanda Burden, a stepdaughter of CBS founder William S. Paley.[19]

On March 29, 2006, after experiencing shortness of breath in Syria, Rose was flown to Paris and underwent surgery for mitral valve repair in the Georges-Pompidou European Hospital. His surgery was performed under the supervision of Alain F. Carpentier, a pioneer of the procedure.[20] Rose returned to the air on June 12, 2006, with Bill Moyers and Yvette Vega (the show's executive producer), to discuss his surgery and recuperation.

In a 2009 Fresh Dialogues interview, Rose described his life as "great and glorious."[7] He added, '"I get up every morning with a new adventure. The adventure is fueled by interesting people. I get a chance to control my own destiny. I do something that is immediately either appreciated or not. I get feedback."

Rose owns a 575-acre (2.33 km2) farm in Oxford, North Carolina, an apartment overlooking Central Park in New York City, a beach house in Bellport, New York, an apartment in Washington D.C.[3] and an apartment in Paris, France.

Voted this am around 9:00 @ Wilbur Cross High School in New Haven, Ct. Waiting time aprox. one hour, most were in a cheerful mood, free coffee and donuts were served. Definite Obama territory.... ;).

Just voted on my to the gym. Only about a 20 minute wait. Saw several people I haven't seen in a while. The gentleman who replaced me as Township Commissioner said turnout is very high in our ward. It was 75% for Dems when I went into the booth.

Get your fingers out of your ears. There have been major elections swayed by voter fraud. We just had a case were more people voted than lived in the area.

A Republican in North Carolina lost a congressional race to a democrat when more people voted than lived in precincts.  Precincts had more people vote than were registered.  democrats have no problem cheating.

PLEASE NAME THAT REPUBLICAN FROM NORTH CAROLINA?

STILL WAITING!

AS I SUSPECTED.  YOU WILL POST ABSOLUTE bulls**t WITH NO REFERENCE AND EXPECT FOLKS TO TAKE IT AS GOSPEL BECAUSE YOU SAY SO?

NEGRO PLEASSSSSSE!

I posted your answer.  Deal with it.  democrats cheat and steal elections.  Just like Charlie Rose did in '94.  That's why he didn't run again.  He knew he couldn't win fairly.

ARE YOU EVEN CAPABLE OF A SIMPLE AND DIRECT ANSWER TO A SIMPLE AND DIRECT QUESTION?   JUST RHETORICALLY SPEAKING AS THE ANSWER IS OBVIOUS.

Line is as slow as DMV, folks most likely to vote Romney are leaving, folks most likely to vote Obama are hanging. The POTUS will win this county but this state is blood red. :brickwall:

I've already posted the link once in this thread.  I'm not doing it again.  You didn't have a problem when I posted the same information in another thread.  Copy and paste the link from the other thread.  You will find the names involved.

Maryland.  I waited a little more than one hour.

THe reason was the elderely and people with physical disabilities were allowed  move ahead in line.

I thought that was a great idea.

The other reason was there were many more folks than usual.

Most imes, I never have to wait--but the turn-out was HUGE!

Just voted after 4 hours in line. Worst voting experience in my life. My neighbor who was behind me was about to set it off when they said he and his wife were in the wrong place. He said "I swear on Martin Luther King I'll go off in here if you don't let us vote". Miraculously the old white lady found their names.   :lmao:

I'm glad your neighbor didn't have to set it off but big props to you and your neighbor for standing in long for 4 hours.
