Title: NR: Do Failing Historically Black Colleges Deserve Billions in Handouts?
Post by: WileECoyote06 on December 08, 2019, 04:02:46 AM
You knew it was coming. . from a former official in the DOE.. .

Quote
The federal government shovels hundreds of millions of dollars per year to America’s 100 historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs), with minimal accountability. Congress is poised to keep the shovel going full steam, and presidential candidates Bernie Sanders (Vt.) and Cory Booker (N.J.) want America to give these institutions as much as $100 billion more. While some HBCUs have modernized their operations and are succeeding, many others that are failing are lobbying for handouts — and Congress has already rewarded the worst performers with loan deferment and forgiveness. Congress should stop giving out so much free money, let failing colleges fail, and showcase the ones that successfully compete.

White males have what is called small dyck syndrome. Conservatives lead the pack in this group. This syndrome will never let them see beyond the hatred in their hearts. I was watching a documentary on PBS about Jim Jones and his son actually admitted his father felt inferior to the myth of the well endowed black males. This is why he never had a black man in an authority position.

Less money would be needed if more federal research grants went to HBCUs.

I always say to myself: What if every HBCU had a nine-figure endowment? We could write our story and etc.

Problem is alumni support fayettevile state and texas southern has 2% of alumni giving support.  Highest is clafin college at 47.7 %. Next is spelman at 30%. The rest of the top 10 are in the teens. The black church can afford to give every black student a 20000 per year scholarship who attends an HBCU.  only a slave can free another slave.

They need to shut up.  What they hand out to HBCU’s is peanuts compared to what they hand out to PWI’s.

Our endowments are paltry in comparison to large PWI’s but they still manage to get large amounts in federal funding.   Harvard is the richest school in the US and still manages to receive over half a billion in federal funding.  USC gets over $500 million in funding as well.

The new bill they approved for ALL HBCU’s Is a little over $255 million, which averages to about $2.5 million per school.

Like I said, they need to shut up.
