Ok, everyone should be up to speed by now so let's talk.

Nova is crazy. Who died and left her the harbinger of other people's truth? It's not her truth to tell. She deserves everything coming to her over the next few episodes.

I'm still trying to figure out, why Nova sold her family out. Nova is the most self-absorbed self righteous sista I have ever seen she hurts people w/her actions and justifies it with feminism.i want to know did  she detail how she was throwing it back for a MARRIED WHITE COP?! Since she wanna set everyone the ph--k free!!! Crazy heifer

Did she also talk about being bi-sexual, or selling marijuana on the side?????? What she said about Ralph-Angel was downright disgusting.

She also would've caught a "free yourself" a-- whipping from the family.

Spoiler alert....

IMO, Nova's deep seated resentment of Charley has to do with the privilege reference in the closing scene......Charley's skin tone, marrying a professional athlete, the life she lived in CA both as a child and as an adult, etc.

Who is Jimmy Dale, is he Vi's ex? I don't remember the back story, what is it? Micah is bugging me too. I know he is they typical young person, and is like a flag in the wind, but boy needs to use his brain before he follows the pack and starts hitting people.

The life she thought she (Nova) deserved. Nova wants what Charlie has. I wouldn't be surprised if she calculated Micah to turn against his mom.

Jimmy is Viv’s ex.

Another thing, Nova had the audacity to say Charley is complicit in the oppression of black people like Charley ain’t been the one doing the work while she sit her pretentious a**  at home and write bulls**t, girl ph--k you.

Aunt Vi is going to flip out when Jimmy Dale shows up.  Hollywood may try to beat his butt.  You know Hollywood don't want anyone messing with his Honey Vi.

Blue is going to find out that Ralph Angel is not his daddy and that is going to devastate him and Darla.

Micah is discovering his blackness and he is torn.  He likes the rich privilege life, but he wants his new black friends.  Plus his girlfriend has probably put that "black girl magic" on him and he has lost his mind.  The power of the "P".   :lmao:

I'm still shaking my head in disgust at Nova. How do you justify ruining your family for fame?

Also, the cutie talking to Ralph Angel is a Public Defender. I wonder, how it's going to go?

Finally, Nova has poisoned Micah with her pro-black bullshyt.

Watched the episode last night after coming home from vacation...............................

What I don't get about Nova is this.............
She keeps saying how revealing all this information is going to "help" so many families. That may or may not be true. But how does it help HER family. Revealing that her nephew is illigetimate when he's 6 years old? Saying your sister gets ahead because she's lightskinned and mean / selfish? Saying your aunt has been weak as long as you've known her? How's that fair to the family, regardless of if it helps other families or not? The information her sister told her about the divorce and whatnot was privileged information. Why would she put that out there for all the world to see? How does she know that her brother wasn't going to tell his son about the circumstances of his birth, once he got older?

Nova's character is a CLEAR example of someone taking selfishness to the next level. At no point does she believe this will be helpful to her family because if she did, she would've asked their permission to expose them, OR she would have made the book fictional. If she were my sister, we probably wouldn't talk for many, many years if at all.

Nova is a walking "woke" think piece. All talk with very little substance and totally missing the meaning of the activism that she pretends to espouse.

When Aunt Vi said “don’t bring no flowers to my grave. I don’t need you disturbing any more of my peace.” I hollered.

In the closing scene while Nova was walking out of Aunt Vi's all disheveled, I was hoping Ava DuVernay would call up a giant flying  pterodactyl to swoop her up and drop her into a nearby Louisiana volcano.  ::)  My bad, all the  pterodactyls and volcanos are in Alabama, since they are so far behind the times.

I'm not feeling the Mexican dude either, but I try to keep an open mind on such matters. The high point of the episode was where Charlie decided to help him open a clinic for the workers.  I have nothing against interracial dating, I just hate when people make it a priority in their relationships. Then she went on that show about the book and made it seem like she and her family have talked everything out and are healed. What I don't understand is why Nova keeps trying to call her siblings and Aunt Vi, and book's been out for just a few days. Why not just go on your little book tour for six weeks, and THEN try to reach out. They've already said they don't wanna talk to you. What is wrong with Nova? I don't understand her. Yeah, but the way he did it was disrespectful to Charile. It is really up to Micah to develop a relationship with her and then soften his mother to the idea of meeting. Davis should not be involved at all. The kids had nothing to do with their parents screw-ups.

Nova is a trip, lurking outside, peeping in windows, haunting folk like she is the ghost of a crime committed many generations ago. I'm really trying to channel Charles Dickens today.

From the dialogue it was my understanding that Davis didn't know Charlie was going to be at home, and his intention was to take Micah with him and the daughter to lunch or something like that. I don't think he intended to disrespect Charlie. Additionally, I don't think it's realistic to say "Davis shouldn't be involved at all". They are both his kids. He should be the one to initiate their relationship, and then see where they go from there. But if he doesn't initiate it, then the kids might not have ever met. As the father, that is HIS responsibility.

Nova thinks her honesty on private lives will survive the emotion of family love . She is mistaken because people do not like to be hurt. Narcissist don’t ever think they are wrong.

Ivan, that is like you and your side chick stopping by your house to pick up something and your wife is unexpectedly home.
"I didn't know you would be here" is not going to cut it. It's dis-respectable to take her there to begin with. Davis  should have went to the house alone and picked up Micah.

When is somebody gonna slap fiya from Nova's face on because I'm all the way pissed how that lil boy came to Blu with that "you don't have a real dad" BS

The final scene of Queen Sugar got me. Blue and Ralph Angel represent what's not often shown in media. A father's pure unconditional love, blood or not.

Btw, I didn’t recognize Freddie Different World Cree Summers until the credits started rolling :o

She is going to be Nova's undoing. This is the main reason you don't go jumping back in bed with an ex. In the preview for next week, she was like, 'no this heffa didn't win this award on her first book, and I've been trying to get it all my life.' The claws are about to come off.

^ Cree Summers came out with the claws and scratches. I took the backwoods stench off of you  :o

Nova is so delusional. Your family does NOT care about any awards. What did Billy D say to Ms.Ross " Success is nothing, unless you share it with the one you love. She should have thought about family before throwing them under the mucking bus.

I liked how Ralph was open to counseling. Everyone should have access to mental health care! Free or low cost! It's so helpful and necessary!

Last but not least. I see Mr. Prosper getting his Mack on  He said " I got a few steaks, she said she would bring the wine. Alllllllllllllllllllllright now.

Queen Sugar has had many good episodes, but by far, this latest is the strongest of the series 3 year history.  The writing for each storyline was excellent from top to bottom. I feel like I have been waiting all my life for a well written black drama. The interesting thing is the fact that the series is realistic, with a minimum amount of exaggerations.

Have and Have Nots, and Ambitions are a joke. Never seen Greenleaf so I can't speak about it.  The new drama, David Makes Man, appears to be taking the high quality nod  from Queen Sugar.

I understand what Oprah had to do to get her network started, she basically jumping into bed with Tyler Perry by feeding the hungry baby sugar water and jelly sandwiches.

Now that she has our attention, she is raising the bar. This is something networks have failed to do in the past.  Remember when FOX started as a network years ago? They introduced a slate of urban comedy shows to attract viewers, but instead of investing in the black audience, they eventually canceled all those shows and used their new found success to invest in high quality shows for white audiences.

LMABAO!!!!

I'm glad to see folks are finding interest in the weekly series call Queen Sugar. While it some what accurately portrays life in south Louisiana By mixing in the era of the 50's with a modern day twist. I take strong issue with the writers intentionally omitting the crucial role that Southern University played in educating the black community and it's farmers. They would have you believe that LSU and all the other PWI's were the primary source of education for people like my uncles,  aunts,  and cousins. To this day many of our own don't even know that Southern main campus was originally in New Orleans.

I agree,  in Ambitions, the main players went to Morehouse and Spelman.
