Gov. Pat McCrory has signed into law...House Bill 972 on Monday afternoon.

The new law details who can view and obtain footage from body and dashboard camera. The footage is no longer public record.

This is a method to suppress evidence until it has been reviewed by the authorities and give them time to spin their response.  How do we know the body cam footage is not altered.

What are the Onnidan North Carolinian's take on this?

I wondered the same thing...^^^ And yes, I do believe we're capable of holding meaningful discussions on a myriad of issues, simultaneously.

This one reeks of sum B.S. if you ask me.  These body cams are paid for with taxes and should be held in the same esteem when anyone - (1) media, (2) a member of the public or (3) lawyers or defendants request open records.  I believe this is another not-so-subliminal way that the "authority" seeks to manipulate possible evidence.

I could understand having to file a FOIA request, but not this...

My take is....when early voting begins, I'm voting Cooper.

I'm tired of looking at that beady eyed mf'er.

We don't trust anything that comes out of Raleigh these days.

It's funny that they mentioned Domestic Assault. I had a client who was falsely accused. The body am showed the officers in the bedroom where the assault allegedly took place.

You could hear them saying there was no area in room for the Wife to be thrown against the wall like she claimed.

That helped exonerate my client at trial.
