Powerball winner gifts $10 million to Morris College
By WAYNE WASHINGTON - wwashington@thestate.com

SUMTER -- When the Rev. Solomon Jackson Jr. won the $259.9 million Powerball jackpot last summer, he said someone else would be blessed with some of that money, too.

Thursday, when he handed Morris College a check for $10 million during a jubilant midday program on campus, students, faculty and staff learned they were that collective somebody.

"This is one of the four greatest milestones in the 100 years of existence for Morris College," said Luns C. Richardson, who has served as Morris' president since 1972.

Now he will be forever blessed because that is what God wants us to do with that money is to help others.  MBC may be on the way back and I hope that they learned a lesson this time.

Thank God! clap nod

Check that Cats...its Morris College in South Carolina, not MBC in Atlanta.  Congrats to Morris College...maybe the next big winner will so bless Morris Brown...

I just went to their web site. Looks like a neat little school but I did not see an enrollment number. It looks like Livingstone is the only Ciaa school who  plays them in any sport.
