HBCU Basketball a Disappointment

This should be entertaining....

Not really, this is a recurring theme this time of year so no need to get excited about it. The same can be said about D2 HBCUs and CIAA being better than SIAC. Even the good WBB from FVSU don't fare well in NCAA tournament.

As far as HBCU's are concerned, until we start properly funding our programs, improving our facilities, and start hiring better coaches, our basketball teams are going to continue to be in the same predicament as our football teams, and for that matter, all the other sports on our campuses.  Our athletic issues this year collectively, across all divisions, all four conferences, as well as independents, are the same as they have been most every year since desegregation.

Money is not the sole reason we do so poorly on the D-I level. We simply do not have the talent to compete. Even when we play schols with similar small budgets we usually lose. Schools such as Radford, Campbell and Longwood routinely beat us as well. Heck, D-II ECSU beat Norfolk State and A&T had to go to overtime to beat Carver Bible College. We have to do a better job recruiting and that starts with getting more D-I transfers to attend our schools.

See thats still a money issue and a problem with some of these lazy coaches. A lot of coaches do not go to camps, conferences and clincs to build relationships with coaches to recommend HBCUs when a student is looking to transfer or when asked for recruiting advice

I did not say African leagues were better, but its for the entertainment of Africans and not racist whites.
