Should FVSU Hire Dr. White as Director Of Bands

No, we should not. We do not want anymore Florida A & M University rejects. We have enough in administrative positions that we are trying to purge out. The "Blue Machine" needs it's own beginning. We had our time with the late, great Willam P. Foster. And we even, went after Mr. Ellis, former band director of Morris Brown College + director of South Carolina State, in the past.  Now, it's the opportunity for someone else. The national search has been going on since this past Spring and hopefully, will be announced next year. Granted, we are putting more money into the band and we don't need anymore negative press. Many people that on campus do not wish to continue to be portrayed as Florida A & M North. We Are Fort Valley State University!

Since FAMU is one of the top university in the nation, I do not have a problem with it. It funny how we negro have issues with being called a clone of a Prestigious college, but PWCs take pride as being considered the Harvard of the ________.
 Rice University is sometimes called the “Harvard of the South” or the “Harvard of the Southwest.”

There are other “Harvards of the South” ("HotS"), including Duke University, Emory University and Vanderbilt University.

Every educated adult out there that hears that I go to Tulane automatically gets that look on their face of recognition and appreciation of the school. It's well known for its great reputation and they don't call it the Harvard of the South for nothing.

Exactly Cats Forever us Negroes are too darn proud to be humble we wanna be on the cutting edge of everything. Which is why we are collectively last in everything in America that truly matters. You 2 sound stupid. I don't do imitation. Cloning or imitation, often times, becomes recycle of the same and no distinct qualities of your own. I am a creator. I deal with original thought process through research everyday. I don't wish to live in anyone's shadow. Fort Valley State University taught me to be a LEADER not a follower.

Personally, I don't think it would be a good idea...Just look at how much flack South Carolina got from hiring Ellis...everything they did, they associated it with MoB!!!  it's more of a  identity issue than anything, if you ask me because the first time FVSU does something even remotely close to FAMU than they're gona be called a Xerox, etc.... and even if they don't  do anything similar to FAMU some dummy is gona claim FAMU did it in some life time or another..... I wouldn't do it....If it was possible I would just hire the interim, he appears to know what he's doing....

Yeah, cloning has it's good and bad spots. That's why I'm glad my SPARTANS keep our theme going. But it wasn't always so. Our old band uniforms(from the 80's) were specifically designed to look just like Michigan State University's band uniforms, and, well,,,,,,they ARE SPARTANS, too,,,,,,,,so,,,,,,,!  But now we are definitely the look of SPARTANS, right down to our helmets!

I'm thinking that a Band Directors had to come from some school. In that case are we all a clones of someone? I am wondering what school did each band director graduate from? And does that band have that particular school's taste?
