Dr. White is available according to ESPN reports of him being fired by FAMU. My ? is with FVSU already expressing the desire to elevate their program & also replace the interim director with a permanent director.According to FVSU they already have a national search going on for a Permanent director of bands i say the search is over hire Dr. White if possible it would be a great fit i think with his name and connections it would behoove the VALLEY to get him. He could build our program and elevate them on steady basis moving foward. Go get him ASAP!!!

I see your thought process but remember that the Great Dr. Foster was once at FVSU……. If he is hired just know that alums must support the BMMB…Money is what made the 100 run not White. White is used to running a band program off of a 7 figure budget....... On another note keep in mind that Foster handed White the keys to a Bentley and many 100 alums feel white turned that Bentley into a Benz…… tiptoe tiptoe tiptoe but more power to ya; it would definitely be a step in the right direction for Valley. Just don't expect a miracle over night.....

Also (not saying that it is justified) but his name might actually keep some parents from sending their kids to participate in his program

Why would you want this loser to be your band director?  If you went on a cruise would you want Owen Honors to be the ship's captain?

I think we are jumping to conclusion and i know we like to use it happened on your watch, but do you have any idea how hard it is to keep up with that many kids.  I am not saying the person was not hazed which I hope is not true which is why we have to be mindful of what is posted online.  In the past, I stated that I suffered from allergies for years and experienced a multitude of "illness" due to not been properly treated and even had life threaten situations.  When I finally found out, I started to wonder if my best friend in High School past as a result of having a similar condition.

It became very plausible since we were like twin who was born to different families. We were born exactly 12 hours apart, we looked alike, we even had the same taste in every thing including women.  We even suffer injuries and sickness together.   When I was going through my major issues that almost took me a away twice, ironically he past. With that said I will wait until I get the fully report. BTW, unless they look for it, allergies are very hard to detect because often they focus on the symptoms not finding the cause. When they finally detected it with me, I thought I was having a heart attack because I was grabbing that area and felt something was wrong there. It felt as if I had ran 100 miles not stop.

I feel what you're saying MSRB , but look @ it like this we are not even a Stankin Lincoln much less a Benz & hell naw we(FVSU) aint a BENTLEY. So expectations are not as high in the VALLEY noticed i said a steady BUILD to a natinal band program, also with us he can make a name for himself & get from under DR. Foster's shadow remember you never wanna follow a legend in anything . I think it would bring FVSU instant notoriety & in todays reality t.v., train wrecks , & high profile scandals all publicity is publicity gained cuz it gets your name out there see Kim Kardashian. WHEN you are FVSU BMMB you're all ready in lower tears this would instanly get all eyes on us. That's where i'm coming from.

I very seriously doubt that Ft. Valley alums would want their marching band to be a FAMU-clone.

This proud Fort Valley State University alumni does not want a train wreck or high profile scandal or anything related coming to the university. I disagree with the notion that all news is good news. Keep that negative ish away from FVSU.

PS: I'm not refering to Dr. White specifically. I'm refering to FVSU in general.

No, we should not. We do not want anymore Florida A & M University rejects. We have enough in administrative positions that we are trying to purge out. The "Blue Machine" needs it's own beginning. We had our time with the late, great Willam P. Foster. And we even, went after Mr. Ellis, former band director of Morris Brown College + director of South Carolina State, in the past.  Now, it's the opportunity for someone else. The national search has been going on since this past Spring and hopefully, will be announced next year. Granted, we are putting more money into the band and we don't need anymore negative press. Many people that on campus do not wish to continue to be portrayed as Florida A & M North. We Are Fort Valley State University!

that's all...

Hey even though i was born & raised in Ft. Valley i'm not an insider to the house keeping of FVSU i just love my hometown team not many people can say they have a home town school or team other than their local high school program as far as rural areas are concerned. While i am an outsider the #1 Famu reject who was FVSC 1st along with Dr. Foster. Say what you want about Rivers he has done a lot for this school following Dr. Lamotey under his watch the school was problably @ its lowest since i been alive under Lamotey. Being a native of a school bus (Blue Bird Body Bus Co.), &peach/ pecans producing city & county this is the first college president to my knowledge to ever get an always white mayor to attend the homecoming parades & football games & callaborate with the city & county for the best interest of the university with their services. FVSU has always been the school across the railroad tracks in FT. Valley till Rivers came not saying i am in his band wagon just stating what i see as an outsider who the FVSU nation is trying to gain. White may not be the guy but South Carolina has hired a UF reject in Spurrier look a@ the heights they've achieved SEC champ game never been b4 until Spurrier. Ohio State getting to hire Meyer a UF reject. In the words of the Temptations " aint to proud to beg" just the thoughts of an outsider who watches FVSU's every move who happens to love them with every fiber of his bones.

You have been on earth long enough to know that often times they dress stuff up to make it appear a certain way and I am sure things happen like in the business world where they give folks a chance to resign or be fired.
